Smed didn't want to think about Dolby's wedding. Why had he sprung it up on him, like this? They'd had years to get married. And now they had to wait until the day before Thanksgiving to get married.
It was tough, trying to explain the situation to his boss, how he needed the time off. How he'd wanted the time off to be with new family and not old family. It was pretty much walking of egg shells, everywhere lately. At work. Around Dolby when he was here.
But hadn't it always been that way with Dolby. Smed knew he meant well, but it left him scared half the time. He just didn't know how to stand up to him.
Thankfully, it was easy to get the time off.
"Do you even want to go with me?" He had a feeling she wouldn't. He wouldn't dare force her.
"Well, of course, I want to go." After all, Dolby said he'd fly them both in. It would be so much quicker than the train.
Smed smiled nervously. He'd never been on a plane before. He wasn't sure he wanted to tell Megan he hadn't.
And all this time, he was sure she wanted to stay here and perhaps hang out with Cho.
