Logan watched Natalie all animated at lunch, going on about Derrick. Evidently, it didn't matter that Derrick didn't really dance. He was just hilarious, according to Natalie.
"I want a little boy just like him." She was playing with her chicken salad at the table where Logan and Sammi sat with her, in the food court at the student union building. Logan tried to be happy for her, but he wanted to gag on all this 'love' she had for Derrick. He looked at Sammi.
"Nat, don't say that. You are way too young to be thinking about kids, right now." Sammi glared at her.
"I know, but you know, I can't help it. There is just..something about him." She shrugged with a silly smile on her face as if she'd been drugged with a dose of Derrick.
"He's the biggest geek in the world." Logan made a face with disgust. Of course, he almost had a panic attack when he saw Javi stroll in with some guy. A professor of something. Logan couldn't take his eyes off of Javi. He wasn't sure if it bothered him more that Javi was with someone else, or the fact that Javi might see him.
"What's the matter?" Sammi asked. She saw Javi with the young professor. His hair was golden and he wore thin wire rimmed glasses. He was Academic, yet handsome in a rather Johnny-Boy Walton sort of way.
"Nothing." Logan quickly slurped his Icee then.
"Its not like he's going to grade you on the spot. He's not even the teacher in that dance class. He just helps out at the studio." Sammi laughed at Logan. She then looked at Natalie. "I don't think we'll be going anywhere to do the tango. We both have two left feet."
"I want to learn the tango." The way Natalie smiled, she was imaging romance already with Derrick on the dance floor.
Logan got up to throw his cup away. Instantly, he escaped to the bathroom, just to get his act together. He didn't know how he felt about Javi. Did he want anyone seeing them together, here? Or was he jealous, seeing Javi with someone else? He thought he might throw up. So he hurried to the restroom.
He felt so feverish as his dark bangs fell across his face there in the bathroom as he leaned against the cool blue tile wall. Logan was a bit shaky. He thought Javi might see him and follow him into the restroom. Maybe.
Logan listened to his heart quicken. He tried to breath rationally. Just then the door opened, but it wasn't Javi. Someone with the most startling blue eyes ever..stared at him.
"Are you OK?" The guy asked.
"Yeah, yeah, just..just fine." But he felt faint. He hadn't felt this nervous in a long time.
