Derrick and Sami walked in on the tail end of something. There was giggling by the pool. It was Megan and some Asian guy getting their feet wet.
"We should go swimming." Derrick grinned. They'd been watching the shark attack movie. Of course, Sami wasn't amused. She rolled her eyes and stomped away, but Derrick hung back and watched. It wasn't long until Megan and that guy said their good-byes. It was quiet again and Megan sat at the edge of the pool with her feet dangling in the water.
Derrick didn't waste time, off his shirt went. Jeans, too. He dove in and swam over to Megan, grabbing her foot before she knew it. "What are you waiting for?"
She looked at him stunned as if he might be the shark in the water.
"What are you doing here?" She evidently hadn't noticed before.
"Taking a swim." He floated on his back. "You got underwear on, don't you?"
She looked across the water. "I haven't swam all summer." She told him.
"Well, the water's great." He asked again what was she waiting for?
"I'm-" She shook her head. "What would Sami think?"
"She'd be plenty pissed." He laughed. "I think you should come in."
She quickly took off the dress. There she was in her matching pink undies. She jumped in quickly. Of course, she squealed from the cold.
"So how was your date?" Derrick didn't try to tease her any. It felt nice to talk to someone who didn't groan at every question he asked.
"OK. I guess." Megan went under and came up with her hair in her eyes.
"Just OK?" Derrick winced.
"Well, it was sort of a blind date. I mean, I kind of know him. But not really know him." Megan explained as she relaxed in the pool too.
"Do you want to know him?" Derrick wondered.
"Maybe." Megan smiled brightly. "He's very shy."
"That is something I've never tried." He grabbed Megan's waist from behind and spun her around. She squealed as if she might be ten, again. Of course, she got him, dunking him under.
