"I think your brother was seeing somebody." Alex finally told Logan as if that alone would make sense about what Noel did. Leaving the scene of the accident. Letting Randi on her own to take care of the infant.
"I didn't think he could possibly lose it, like that." Logan winced hard. They'd been to see Randi, at Natalie's parents. Ari was dark. Her eyes were like Noel's. Her lips too. Logan very much knew he was the baby's Uncle.
"You're mother seems to think it." Alex nodded.
"Did he go mental? What the..." He didn't finish his sentence. They settled in a booth at the diner on the way back from their visit. Logan was picking at a patty melt.
"You're not like him, in the least." Alex assured him who didn't have a problem eating his fries with catchup.
Logan made a face of disgust, anyway. He thought of how his brother freaked out at the hospital.
"Look, your mother knows where Noel is. That's all that matters. Maybe he'll come around, sooner or later." Alex assured him.
Logan nursed his Dr. Pepper. Just how much was he like his brother? Logan frightened himself at the thought. But he knew deep down, he'd never leave a child. Never.
