Caitlin went to fix up Megan's old room up for Sheila. That was the last person she expected to see, and Sheila really messed up what Caitlin needed to figure it out with Smed. Why couldn't he just give them a chance? What was so wrong with that? Sooner or later, Zeke would understand. It made her more bitter as she thought about it. But she pulled off the old sheets and started getting the bed re-made for company. However, the door bell rang. It was Dung.
"Is their a room for rent?" He asked.
Caitlin looked at him wide-eyed. "Alex talk to you?"
"Yeah, he called me, about it." Dung nodded.
"I guess he means Megan's room." She walked up the stairway. He followed. She told him she was making the room up for a guest, but next week it would be available.
"Megan? What's she doing these days?" He made polite conversation. Caitlin supposed.
"You haven't heard? She married Derrick and they moved to New York." Caitlin turned to him. He chuckled.
"I knew it. I knew that girl wanted to get married." He grinned.
Caitlin caught a laugh too. As if the whole thing was quite ridiculous.
He looked around the room, thinking it was good sized. He told her about his reading chair. It was practically a love seat, he guessed. "I think it'll fit in here." He found a spot where he wanted it. Over by the window.
"So, will I have to share a bathroom with you?" He asked.
"Yeap, Sammi, too." Caitlin nodded.
"She never came back to my class." He looked hurt then as if he didn't understand the reason.
"She's been busy with school, and her boyfriend Lyle." Caitlin told him.
"So you're still teaching?" She asked.
"Uh-huh, yoga, too." He sounded as if he didn't even have time to sleep.
"Well, the room is yours." Caitlin shrugged. She told him how much rent would be, and he could have it next week. But as she watched him leave, she doubted she'd ever see him around.
