"No..no..we just can't run away." Alfie hoped he'd put the idea out of Shelia's head. Yes, he'd love the idea of going on some sort of holiday with her where no one knew them. Still, it was fun sneaking around. "This is your brother's day. We can't mess that up. We'll figure out a way."
Alfie was sure Sheila would come up with something. They had a few minutes together in the downstairs bathroom that no one went too. Supposedly, she was getting ready, alone for the wedding.
"Like how?" She was only in her undies, putting on her makeup.
"Maybe..maybe you could stay longer." Alfie thought that might work.
"I guess." She still talked about how much fun it would be if they got together. Maybe Canada. Alfie chuckled quietly.
"Oh, you know, you have your ways." Alfie sighed as if he truly believed Sheila was the best actress in the world. And wouldn't it be great, if she could stay?
They kissed then. She smelled lemony fresh. For a moment, he didn't think he could let her go. If this didn't work out, he'd certainly find a way to be with her.
