"He knows. And he's coming." Caitlin announced to Megan before she could get out the door.
"What?" Megan winced as if she didn't have time for this.
"Derrick is coming. He knows about the baby. You, can hate me all I want. But he had to know." Caitlin was like a force of nature. She was standing up for someone's rights.
Megan fumed as if she'd suddenly lost her thunder.
"I'm going back to bed then." She was cold, but she didn't say Caitlin had any right to inform him of the situation.
"Fine." Caitlin crossed her arms about that time Dung appeared to the rescue. "I'll just stay in Dung's room." She told her.
A part of her wanted to stay up with Megan and hope she told her everything. But she was beginning to think she didn't want to know. Megan was in this different mind set. Caitlin wanted to tell her she wasn't in control of everything. She couldn't be THAT IN CONTROL.
But she didn't know what to say to her. She sensed Megan would never trust her again, maybe she wouldn't. Possibly, it didn't matter anymore. Best friends could only do so much.
