Zeke couldn't change Sheila's mind. She'd gotten herself a bus ticket home.
"Are you serious?" Smed winced hard. "She didn't even let me know. What happened?"
Here Smed was so happy to see them. It was as if he had good news, but Shela wasn't there to share it.
"She said it was something she forgot to do with school. She didn't want to be late for something." Zeke shrugged as he got settled on the couch with the baby. Randi was already off in the kitchen with Sammi and ready to help Alex and Logan.
"I thought she was going to move here. I honestly did. The way she talked about it." Smed smiled at Ari.
"I guess we must have bored her to death." Zeke shrugged. "Probably a good thing she went back. Mom probably missed her. She'd call her at least twice a day."
"Yeah, I guess." Smed sighed as if he understood. Zeke let Smed hold the baby who was all in pink. She took to Smed as if he were Zeke.
"So, anything you forget to tell me?" Zeke wanted to know.
"Nah, it can wait." Smed just smiled.
They heard Alex's cell play some epic tune "I want to know what Love is". A few minutes later he came into the livingroom to tell them he heard from Hattie.
"Timo's brother is in town."
"His brother?" Smed couldn't help but almost laugh. "This'll be interesting. Well, did you tell her to bring him to dinner?"
"Yeah, they're bringing him." Alex told him who had to make a few faces at Ari.
"So, is it going to awkward with..you know.." Zeke shrugged. Of course, he might have been just thinking out loud. It was still weird being around Caitlin, even if he had moved on. Evidently, she had too.
But he guessed they could handle it. Hopefully, Megan would be in a good mood too.
