Megan guessed she felt a bit foolish. But she did her best to smile and be excited like everyone wanted her to be. Maybe she was. She wanted to be excited about the baby, but then she thought of Timo and that ruined it. Yet she was being on her best behavior.
She hated to bring Timo up. Derrick had been so sweet and soothing through the whole ordeal about the pregnancy. He'd called his parents to share the news. He'd even gotten her to call her Dad, her grandmother too about the exciting news. In fact, her grandmother was flying out next month to see them in New York City. She was a little surprised. She hadn't thought that much family time would be coming up, but there was that visit to look forward too. Derrick's parents were coming for Thanksgiving. It was going to be a lot to juggle, but Megan guessed she'd have to do it somehow.
But her smile wasn't fake as dinner progressed. And then to have Timo's brother here. It was odd. Funny, though, she thought he fit right in, as she watched him pass the mashed potatoes around the table, then the green beans. It was as if he could have been Smed and Zeke's brother.
She wanted to ask Caitlin was she thought of Gavin, but she seemed to be so absorbed with Dung. Of course, Megan wanted to rant about that, but she wasn't sure what she'd say. She couldn't say she was mad at Caitlin for keeping him a secret. Yet, she was furious with Dung. She was beginning to wonder what she ever saw in him, in the first place.
But Megan kept smiling. It wasn't her place. She needed to be wise. After all, she was going to have a baby.
