Stop thinking so much

Cori was caught off guard when he saw Wade at the pizzeria. Granted no one was waiting for pizza and Cori was getting the dough ready for toppings. Naturally, it wasn't a rush these days, but he was still busy with only a part-timer to help. A few were either waiting for test results or were sick with COVID.

"What are you doing here?" Cori couldn't think Wade was here to help. After all, he stood around like some misfit prince who only spoke in riddles and looked at everyone as if they were beneath him.

"I am taking Melvin to the hospital," He looked so cold as if he really wasn't here to tell Cori anything.

"What?" Cori winced hard with an uneasy expression. This was bad news. "What happened?" Cori wanted to run up the back landing in the cold and find out himself, but there was too much to do.

"It could be nothing or it could be something," Wade shrugged with his fingers in the front of his jean pockets. He was ever so casual.

Even Cori didn't want Wade around. He felt himself move back. Cori couldn't help but make a face of disgust. "You could have called."

"And would have you taken it?" He was rather pious in his expression. Cori only nodded.

"Well, do what you have to do," Cori said he would keep things going. He wanted to reach for some sort of disinfectant and spray the place down. "You better get a test too."

Wade simply grinned as if he might be the silent criminal, and left.

Instantly, Cori thought he might drop to the floor, passed out. This was really hitting home. He looked up above him wondering what in the hell was going on with Melvin. Was it just COVID?

"What's wrong, bro?" Deano's eyes were ever so startled.

"It could be nothing," Cori cleared his throat. The phone was ringing and the computer was letting them know the orders were coming in.

  9. Cori is clearly alarmed, it could be the virus or a simple cold. I hope it is not the Covid or the customers will be at risk of contagion. 🤯

  10. So, Cori doesn't like Wade either. I like this line: Wade simply grinned as if he might be the silent criminal, and left.
