Where do we go from here

 "What do you mean?" Dylan looked at Tori, so listless. Had he heard her correctly. Melvin was dead?

She'd been crying, vegging on the couch. It was as if this nightmare had only started. They'd been waiting for so long, for Melvin to be back to normal so..so they could proceed with a plan about what he'd done. Melvin was no saint.

Still, Dylan felt so numb. He needed Melvin alive. 

He needed to think. He needed to do something. He plopped down next to Tori and put his arm around her. He wanted Frankie's phone number. Why was he trying to scare Tori?

"It won't do any good." She sniffed back tears, but they caught up in her throat again. She sighed deeply. "His body is in New Jersey."

"New Jersey?" Dylan made a face of disgust. This was not OK. Although, they neither had any rights to Melvin. Still, he was furious. Although, it would cost money, and what if it turned out against them. What if..what if Melvin's family knew and..and they came after Tori.

He held her hand then. "Maybe it's best." He didn't mean to sound so cold. 

Tori pushed the strands of her loose hair behind her ear and gave him a nod. 

"Let's not talk about it." Dylan was straight-lipped. In his head, he'd been over and over this nightmare about how to get back at Melvin, but he'd never thought it would end this way. "It'll be fine." He closed his eyes and prayed it was true. This was the end. Wasn't it?

"Do you want to go in and have a well check?" Dylan wanted to know. 

Finally, she gave him a nod. It was good to stick together. How else would they get through? Just like Deano tried his best to get him to do lately in a daily text. "Do something fun today."

"Let's stop at that smoothie place that just opened up," he said it was on the way. He had a feeling he couldn't actually eat at the moment and neither could she.
