"I'm pretty sure Bea's the mystery woman," Tori told Hope who was over with yet another casserole she had plenty of.
"Bea?" Hope looked puzzled.
"From the hospital." Tori smiled. "She's a nurse. She helped deliver Soren."
"Oh, that one," Hope acted as if she understood.
"I mean," Tori could hardly hold in a soft laugh. "It's really the last thing I expected. How had that happened?"
"Oh, he can be a mystery."
"Seriously, she doesn't look like his type, but that seems to make me want them to be together, even more." Tori went to make tea for Hope. "I love that they are together."
"Hmm..I dunno why he wouldn't tell us," Hope shrugged.
"Oh well..he's private, you know." Tori knew they should respect that about Frankie. "He's gone out of his way, you know..especially, with me." She felt a little sad about that. "I just want him to be happy."
"Yes, I think that's what we want." Hope went on to mention Maria who they'd set him up with. "He was so mad at me. I knew." She sighed as she danced her Lemon Lift tea bag in her cup. She then smiled. "It seems Maria met the owner of the Yoga studio. After all, Frankie gave her like a week of coupons to go there. And now Maria and Blue are together."
"Maybe he does play cupid after all," Tori laughed.
"And he doesn't even know it," Hope sighed. Each bit into an almond biscotti. It was time for a short tea party before the babies awoke.
"Do you think it's bad of me, to have Soren on the low-iron formula?" He was at least sleeping through the night now. "I mean, I really did want to breastfeed."
"I think he still loves you. Don't feel like a failure. You're doing great and so is he," Hope told her she needed not to worry so much.

I agree! I'm so happy that Frankie and Bea found each other and think that their unlikely connection makes it all the more powerful. And Tori should absolutely not feel guilty about not breastfeeding Soren. I hate all this, to quote Mean Girls, girl on girl crime that goes on about breastfeeding. Every mother and baby have to find what works for them, and it's no one's business but theirs. Anyway, I'm glad that Tori has Hope for emotional support. She's been through so much and come so far and deserves to feel secure and happy.
ReplyDeleteHope is a good friend and she's right- Tori should not be so hard on herself. Lovely chapter. I like how your chapters are often all about the dialogues. It's a bit like script writing.
