Happy Valentines!

 

It was finally happening and for a moment Bren thought it would be cruel to stop it. No, it was best to just go with it. After all, their first encounter was in the shower, anyway. But it was at his place. And what were the chances of being home alone?

Well, of course, there was a dance of kisses and hugs and really it was enough to suffice. After all, it took some kissing to know someone's lips. And just when she knew it was exactly what she wanted, he broke away and took her hand.

"Let's get in the shower," Mario said.

"I dunno.." she laughed softly as if she might like his idea. After all, there was an hour at most to spare. 

So it happened under the warm water. Although, she hoped it wasn't a habit because it could have been a horror movie.

She opened her eyes. It was hot under the covers in his bed. And Mario was snoring. She wanted to laugh. They were very much together now. Only he could sleep in the middle of the day but she couldn't. Still, she was happy. She would not move. It was best to remember how spontaneous it had been. The feel of his warm skin next to her. It made her smile and finally with a sigh, she fell into slumber once more. Just to be in the present was a gift in itself. No contemplations of shoulds and shouldn't. It was happening. This was being together.

Honestly, this was what she wanted and yet it was only the beginning. A foundation perhaps. Shoulder to shoulder, practically as sticky as some kisses. But maybe she was too hot. Oh, she wanted to kiss him again. And she did.

Rico bought a rose for Liv at school, just because she needed one. Or so he thought. He guessed they hung out too much. They even ate lunch together. In fact, he saw her throughout the day and of course, they worked evenings together at the grocery store. Naturally, she was as somber as ever.

He could have asked her if she was OK, but knew the answer he'd get. 

"So what would be a good Valentines' Day dinner?" He'd asked days before hoping to get ideas. Somehow, he knew he'd feel better about everything if he at least did this much for her.

"Italian of course," She kind of smiled then as she told him how she missed her mom's lasagna. So he planned Italian. He couldn't ask her mother to make it. After all, they were hardly speaking and he didn't want to have a run-in with Tristan. 

With a little help from his Dad, he planned to take her back to his Dad's and they'd have a nice Italian meal together. Of course, the food would be from an old favorite Italian restaurant. 

But when he found Liv in the hallway, she was talking to someone. Someone new. Rico only blinked. He didn't know if Liv was talking to a guy or a girl in the platform boots, all in black. Rico thought he might have to take a step back as he watched their interaction. Honestly, he'd never seen Liv smile quite like that before. What did this mean?

"Oh, this is Alex," she said. And hopefully, he understood her correctly when she said, "They came back to school."
