"What are you trying to tell me?" Tristan gave Mona an angry look. He didn't want her touching him. He didn't want to hear her going on about his sister and her little friend by the name of Rico. "They're living together?"
This got him in a huff. What was his Dad going to think? Maybe they'd disown her this time.
Oh, he knew a thing or two about his little sister running away. She couldn't stay put. She'd ran away here and there most of her childhood. After all, he was the good son. They loved him. Besides, as long as they were spending their money and their time on him, what else mattered?
Now, it was just the three of them at home and it was pretty quiet. That had to mean something. Nobody had to listen to her problems. She was whiner, after all.
"Well, aren't you going to do something about it?" Mona stood there in the school parking lot. He thought she'd be in the car already and they'd be taking a nice drive.
"Like what?"
"I don't know, you'll know what to do," she was holding her books. She said she had something to do at the library. She couldn't go with him.
He swelled a frown. Maybe somebody needed their ass kicked. It was a warm day for it. Besides, it felt an awful lot like spring. The cold front had moved on after a light snow days ago.
She looked at him as if they were both busy. Before he could say goodbye she walked off toward the library. Tristan watched her. Was she really going to the library? Was this whole thing about his sister a ploy of some kind? Maybe Mona was the one seeing Rico.
He drove out of the high school parking lot then and noticed his sister getting into Rico's little pickup truck. Oh, he'd followed them before. Naturally, he'd be a great asset to any police department with his surveillance skills.
Rico would drive her to the grocery store. They might have some iced coffee at Scooters, just outside the store and then they'd go to work. And that's just what they did, like clockwork.
But Liv looked over her shoulder and saw Tristan in the parking lot. She couldn't get into the grocery store quick enough. She didn't even wait for Rico.
By the time Tristan got into the grocery store, she was nowhere in sight. He looked around, Rico already had his grocery store vest on and his price gun. Tristan decided to follow him down the aisle of coffee and tea, and just when he was about to say something to him, he got hit in the back of the head with a small potato.
Interesting dear

Atirar coisas nas pessoas não resolve nada, não é?
ReplyDeleteBeijos!
:~*
Throwing things at people doesn't solve anything, does it?
DeleteWhoa, so Tristian's the good child?! Maybe it's one of those things where it's all in his head. I'm glad someone threw that potato at him! Not only was it hilarious, but a nice karmic touch.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear that you're (as the commercial says) muddling through allergies. I was too, although I think they're finally subsiding. I hope that all is well at the library and that customer service isn't too weird now that fewer people are wearing masks.
Tristan is so evil!
