the light at the end of the tunnel

Frankly, Frankie was too tired to discuss anything with Pixie.

"I'm going to work more hours at the pizzeria," she said with her hands on her hips.

"I swear, you have time for nothing these days," He yawned and the moment it happened he was certain it was mono. Ugh, he thought he hadn't felt the same since that dinner party. Granted he'd hidden with the guys. Mostly, Eddie who looked more out of place than he did. Truly, there was only one thought in his head these days and it was about Bea.

What had Andie meant when she said, "I thought there was a time when you were one of  us." Oh, it gave him the shivers just the thought.

"What are you talking about?" She looked at him as if he might be sleepwalking. "Not that much has changed. I'm still at the coffee house."

"Why don't you just move in with him, for god's sakes." He mumbled about Cyrus, wondering why he'd stayed up just for Pixie's arrival, who was no less ready to do anything but sleep. She went to make herself some pancakes.

"Huh? Did I hear you correctly?" She winced and he told her never mind. Evidently, he was not making sense.

"Maybe..maybe it's you who wants to move in with Bea." Pixie shrugged as she put flour, eggs, peanut butter, and milk into her concoction. Finally, she reached for the baking powder.

"I'm not going anywhere," he told her.

"Of course, not." She went on with her late night snack. She found the butter and maple syrup in the fridge.

"How can you eat this stuff?" He asked as she was flipping pancakes. She got herself a tall glass of cold milk.

"I like my breakfast now," She just said. She got him a plate too. He sat down at the dining table and just watched her eat.

"So how is that Cyrus of ours?" Frankie looked at her sleepily.

"Cyrus is busy with his podcasts." She told him. Honestly, he didn't have time for her lately. Especially, since he was making a notebook of questions and answers for their pub quiz that was coming up next month.

Frankie yawned again. Finally, he managed a bit of the pancakes which were better than he thought possible.

"I'm going to have to give this recipe to Bea," he noted as he took another bite full.

"Why don't you just let her move in here," Pix suggested as she was wiping her plate clean with another square of pancake.

"Too soon." He shook his head.

"Well, don't wait til it's too late." She stared at him as if he'd better listen.

  2. Very interesting. Frankie seems like he's in a weird place, missing his friendship with Pixie and maybe a little afraid to move forward with Bea. But that's normal. I like that Cyrus is getting so into his podcasts and, of course, the pub quizzes. I always want good things for him. :)

Such a cool collage! I almost didn't recognize my red and black animal print sweater; it looks like it was made for this mix! No doubt about it; you've got skills. :)
