"What a terrible thing," Caitlin was trying to piece it all together. Just when she thought Rico might be up to no good with that high school friend of his had turned out to be something totally different. Not the Liv, Caitlin was expecting. "Is she OK?" She asked her brother Mario over the phone.
"I..I am pretty sure she's been through worse," Mario said Tristan was going to spend the night in lock up and then get a psych evaluation. His mother said she and his father were both frightened of him. He might be bipolar. Rico told the cops (who informed him it was a little too late) about what he'd seen when he first met Mona.
"Rico's pretty shaken up," Mario said Liv got to go home, but not with her mother. They were still not speaking to each other. "Liv said she was tired."
"I imagine so." Caitlin knew of these sorts of domestic dilemmas from work, but so close to home. It just felt like a bad mini-series now. How could something like this happen?
Here Liv wanted Rico to be here for her (his sister) and Caitlin guessed Liv never had anything like that at home.
"I hope she's OK."
Caitlin decided to order pizza for Bren and Liv. Actually, she was hungry for mushroom pizza but she knew she had to order a meatlovers for Deano. Yes, she'd possibly neglected him these days.
She looked around the house and knew it was time for her to get a kick start on the dirty clothes and dirty dishes too. Of course, twenty minutes later she was sure she'd done too much, just to see there was more to do.
How could that possibly be?
She did want to be a better person before the baby arrived. She had a few more months to work on that. Maybe it was possible. She just had to do something instead of vegetating so much. Of course, as soon as Deano got home he had her situated back on the couch.
"But..but I need my exercise," she insisted. He gave her a five-pound weight, but then thought it was too much, so he found a three-pound weight. "Strength training is good for you."
She looked at him as if she'd rather be doing other things that were horizontal. But the pizza came in the neck of time and he just smiled. He'd forgotten to have lunch.

Amazing as always ❤ hugs from Poland

ReplyDeleteGreat 👏👏
ReplyDeleteCaitlin is too hard on herself. She remembered Deano's meat lover's pizza after all, and it's clear that he appreciates it -- and her: "But the pizza came in the nick of time and he just smiled. He'd forgotten to have lunch." Also, her concern for Rico and Liv is real. Anyway, no one ever has it all figured out. And I can't think of anyone who keeps up with the laundry! There's a little bit of Caitlin in all of us. Awesome characterization as always! :)
ReplyDeleteUma bela história, amei ler!
ReplyDeleteTenha uma boa noite.

ReplyDeleteI loved how the characters had nice personalities, and I also really liked how well you conveyed scenery.
