"I really want to do something," of course, Tori was thinking music for Megan's wedding. She looked at Dylan as if he was supposed to do something about it, but he was feeding baby Soren at the moment while she was trying to get veg chopped and a stir-fry going for dinner.
"Um, maybe a wedding shower is in order," he shrugged as he burped Soren who sounded like a future truckdriver or football player.
"A wedding shower?" She winced hard. "Me?" Oh, that frightened her. She was not the in charge type.
"You and Hope could do it together." Dylan smiled as he played with Soren at the couch.
"But..but we both have babies, you know." That had to count for something. Someone else should do it.
"Why don't you get Frankie to help," Dylan said as he put Soren in the air and looked up at him ever so playful, only to be drooled in the face.
"FRANKIE!" Suddenly, it was like a light bulb went off above her head. Of course, she had to call Hope first. No way could she waste a text to wait on what she would say.
While she talked on the phone, Dylan put Soren on the rug and went to tend to the skillet as if he knew this would happen.
"She thinks we should have it at his place," Tori told him while he went to check on the food. The brown rice was warming perfectly. He looked over to see that Soren rolled over and was starting to scoot.
"Sounds good to me," he told her the last thing they needed was a lot of people over. Frankie definitely had the room. Of course, Tori stared at Frankie's phone number and winced.
"What are you waiting for?" Dylan looked over his shoulder.
"I don't know," Tori looked as if it might be a bad idea to get Frankie involved. Finally, she pressed direct dial.
Dylan went to get Soren while the sliced chicken sizzled in the pan.
"Hey," she sounded slightly too happy. Dylan winced with a sigh and shook his head. She talked about the weather and how much Soren had grown and how she couldn't wait for it to warm up.
Finally, Dylan handed off Soren and took the phone.
"Just let me talk to him," he said as he turned the meat with the spatula and spoke to Frankie.

Let's see what Frankie says

Very interesting chapter. A wedding shower sounds interesting.
ReplyDeleteThat stir fry sounds good :)
ReplyDeleteDylan is so helpful! It's clear how good he is for Tori, who is a self-proclaimed "not in charge type." I bet Tori was especially relieved not to have task Frankie for help with Megan's shower herself.
ReplyDeleteThe part about Soren sounding like a future truckdriver is so cute and funny. :)
That's an adorable jumper in the collage! Or maybe it's an apron? Either way, very sweet.
Fun picks! Now we'd better shop for the summer💕❤️
