Where do the days go

Oh, there had been so many laughs. The games were all in good fun at the wedding shower. Megan couldn't help but smile through it all with Cori by her side. He was of course, his quiet self.

There were fun presents to open. So many gift cards. Honestly, they weren't in need of anything, but she was happy everyone had thought of them so generously. Some came and went. Both Tori and Hope left early with their little ones. Honestly, it was great to see how Soren and Gracie had grown. She hated to admit it, but she felt a little sad about it. But that was life..it just kept growing and going.

Of course, Caitlin stayed behind. And Megan couldn't help but stare at Caitlin's baby bump. It was definitely true now. Not a figment of the imagination. Caitlin started to say something, but Megan wrapped both of her hands around Caitlin's who plopped down on the couch next to Megan.

"You know, I never had a sister and..and well, you are the closest thing to a sister to me," Megan swallowed back tears. "I know I was never very easy to live with and we did have our moments."

Caitlin only smiled back and nodded. "Yeah, if there were ever a sister, you would be that sister. My sister." Caitlin nodded. They gave each other a hug. "I'm happy, so happy for you, Sis."

Megan only laughed and more tears emerged. It was a real cry fest.

Caitlin sighed and pulled away, looking at Megan. "If anyone can show me how it's done, even marriage, it's you."

Megan didn't really have a comeback. She wasn't going to ask if Caitlin and Deano had any marriage plans. She just wanted to be the friend to Caitlin that she needed.

"It's hard to believe we've come this far," Megan said. "It hasn't been that long, has it?"

Caitlin only laughed. "But so much has happened."

They talked about the pandemic then, and how it used to be at the University. And how that had changed too. Yes, the world kept evolving. Even now, Megan felt she was hanging on for dear life. Should she have gotten another booster, she found herself thinking. After all, the wedding took up a lot of her time.

  10. What a sweet moment between Megan and Caitlin! I love that Megan doesn't pry about Caitlin and Deano's future. That's the sign of a true friend for sure! "Megan didn't really have a comeback. She wasn't going to ask if Caitlin and Deano had any marriage plans. She just wanted to be the friend to Caitlin that she needed."

The purple sundress in the collage is so pretty. And I always love seeing baby Soren! :)
