"Well, if it's anybody who can figure out where his brother is, it's Pan," Weezer shrugged about Pan's problem. Of course, he could tell Nonnie wanted him to care more because she cared a great deal about Roxanne.
They were cleaning up the kitchen trying to keep the week in order and not make anything new but eat the leftovers in the fridge that Nic made, which were cheese enchiladas and cole slaw.
"Did you ever get around to asking Rox about what she did to him?" Weezer could tell Nonnie must know since she was being awful quiet about Pan and Roxanne.
"She was drunk," Nonnie was closed-lipped about the matter. "She was at her wits end. I know she didn't mean to hurt him. It's just, they can be so toxic." She shook her head as she rinsed a dish and forged on with the pots and pans.
Weezer dried plates and bowls and put them away. He sighed heavily, thinking they needed much better friends. They weren't Ari and Jade. Although, he knew Jade was stunned when she had to help out with those two that night.
"I know she would be better off without him, but that's not gonna happen," Nonnie let slip. "She keeps calling him MY PAN." She rolled her eyes at that and went back to scrubbing. Finally, Weezer took over. He didn't want her overdoing it. After all, they had jobs to go to.
"We can only do so much," Weezer told her. "I just wish Pan would do something, you know. He's the biggest procrastinator I know."
"You procrastinate too," She looked up at him.
"Oh really?"
"Your dad keeps calling, and you won't even answer the phone," she was seriously perturbed. "Is it because of me?" Nonnie winced hard.
"That's not it." Weezer squinted with a frown. She turned away from him ever so bitter as if she knew it was true.
"He wants to know about my sister, OK." Weezer sighed. "I feel all this time she's been the important one. Not me." He remained even-lipped as if he was just a bit part in his father's life. He kept scrubbing the pot in the sink. About then she came up from behind and gave him a hug. She was good at doing that just when he needed it most. "Look, he knows about you. He does. I've sent him pics of us, but he never takes me seriously about anything."
Hola! me gusto mucho el capĆtulo, esta muy entretenida la historia. Besos
ReplyDeleteInteresting
ReplyDeleteAw, Weezer has a story there. It can be so hard with parents. I'm glad they were able t ocome together though at the end here. These kinds of talks can be s ohard.
ReplyDeleteParece que las cosas van bien ojala no hay problemas y le vaya bien a Weezer. Te mando un beso.
ReplyDeleteDoing the dishes is therapeutic. I'm a procrastinator too, so I 'm well aware of the issue of procrastination.
ReplyDelete:)
ReplyDeleteThat's interesting about Weezer's dad. I love that Nonnie hugs him from behind while he's doing the dishes. It's so sweet and shows that she's just as good for Weezer as he is for her. As for Pan and Rox, I just don't know. You can play Sid and Nancy for only so long.
ReplyDeleteSuch a gorgeous collage! I love the cactus, pineapple, and colorful cups. And thanks so much for including my red lace heart. You cropped it so creatively, I almost didn't recognize it! šµšššµšš
