Freckles on your face from spring and summer

"Tristan's sister went to Seoul," Jade said as she was helping Mona put the cookie dough on the cookie sheets. It was just a simple recipe, but Mona was struggling. Jade mentioned early on that the eggs needed to be at room temperature.

"What?" Mona looked up at her a bit puzzled about the Tristan's sister part. "Why is she going there?" Obviously, it couldn't have anything to do with Nic.

"I don't know," Jade shrugged back as if it weren't any of her business. "Delia told me." After all, Jade did work with Tristan's girlfriend.

"Why on earth is Tristan even keeping up with her," Mona said she knew about Liv's breakup with Rico. "I thought it would have happened way before now."

"Why?" Jade was being a little oblivious, but Mona wouldn't press her on the subject.

Mona sighed and thought there were probably too many cookies on the cookie sheet, but she just wanted to get them done. Hoyt had been bugging her forever to make homemade chocolate chip cookies. After all, his birthday was coming and that was all he wanted. Cookies. She put the cookies in the oven. Thanks to Jade's help she knew how to work the oven now. Jade set the timer as if she knew Mona would forget.

"Oh, Rico is really..um, I don't know," Mona winced as she came back to the kitchen table and let her jaw rest on her hand in thought. "Maybe too good to be true. I mean, he's just so goodie goodie, you know."

"Well, he was always there for her," Jade said, but she could tell even Jade might have thought this. "Maybe..maybe she'll miss him after this trip..and..and they'll get back together."

"As if," Mona was full of envy. She highly doubted Liv was thinking of Rico right now. "The guy went back to the skating rink. That's just..you know, so stupid." she pressed her lips a bit bird-like as if she knew what he was like. She could have led him on for years, she bet. She smiled then. She'd done her best to sucker punch him once and she knew he only felt sorry for her.

Still, it bothered Mona that Liv was in Seoul and she wasn't. What in the world was Liv up to?

  1. Your character's emotions are so real!
As long as there is chocolate chips, there will be happiness.

  2. I'm also bothered that I'm not in Seoul. Seriously though, I'd like to visit it some day.
    Lovely chapter

  3. Hoyt wanting cookies. :) I think I do now too. Especially with how cold it's gotten here. Anyways Mona is cracking me up here. Thinking Rico is stupid for going back to the roller rink and thinking about how she could have led him on. And I'm not sure it's god that she knows about Liv's trip. She could be trouble...

  6. Ah, so Mona knows about Liv's trip to Seoul at last! I knew she wouldn't be happy about it, but I didn't expect her to trash Rico in the process. Speaking of which, this is hilarious:

" "The guy went back to the skating rink. That's just . . . you know, so stupid." She pressed her lips a bit bird-like as if she knew what he was like."

I can't help but picture Rico doing his moves on the rink, maybe wearing sparkles, while Mona scowls at him. That said, I do feel a little sorry for Mona. She's just so angry. It's nice that she and Jade are getting close, though. And that Jade showed her how to use the oven.😏🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪
