I've been dying to say this to you

Nic was glad to hear from his long-time friend Mario. He guessed he should have called him sooner.

Perhaps, it was the fact that Nic knew Mario was on a completely different level in life than he was. How could he compare to someone who won their way to fatherhood and was so hardworking?

"Stop saying you aren't working hard," Mario told him. "You always have," Mario said he was happy to hear that Nic had found someone and they were moving in together.

"Well..she had to change departments," It felt as if he was going solo now. Although, Felicity would be there for him, regardless. At least they were still at the same company. Nic didn't want to admit it, but he felt lost.

"I have faith in you," Mario told him over the phone. He said things had been crazy with the new job at the University. "Who knew I'd ever go back to baseball." Mario chuckled about it. Nic laughed too.

Of course, they spent some time with old stories and how hard they'd trained back then, way before the Pandemic. It was good to have a few laughs. Still, he admired and envied Mario just a little with his homelife. "How do you do it?"

Honestly, Nic couldn't believe he was taking this giant step. Moving in with Felicity to a new place that was bigger and better than the studios they were in. It was in the same building, too. It just felt so crazy.

"What do you mean?" Mario asked. "You've lived with that crazy chick, Mona."

"Yeah, well, I don't know, it just kind of happened you know. I was with people, at the apartment."

It would just be Felicity. But was it any different? He winced at the thought. Yes, he was truly happy and yet he felt he fell into old habits. He'd always been alone.

"Bro, you won't miss that crowded house you moved out of," Mario practically snickered. "You've grown up. You worry too much about the little stuff, you know. Just go with it. Dance together. Enjoy the moment."

Nic sucked in a breath. Oh, he'd come this far. And yet, he still felt he needed a sister in his life and her name was Liv.

  7. It doesn’t matter if the guy is perfect or the girl is perfect, as long as they are perfect for each other?

  8. Mario is so wise! Nic should give himself a break. Change is always hard, but it's much worse when you dwell on it. As always, I love the last lines:

"Nic sucked in a breath. Oh, he'd come this far. And yet, he still felt he needed a sister in his life and her name was Liv."

    Very poignant! 🌎💗🌎💗🌎💗
