Come over already

Was she crazy at the thought?  Having a dinner party during all this COVID. After all, Bea spent Valentine's Day with Frankie. They'd had dinner with Tori and Dylan at their place. To round out the dinner, there was Hope and Kyle too. Bea had plenty of time to play with babies. Yes, she'd gotten her fix for the month. Evidently.

After all, she was inviting Andie and Teegan. As well as Paulie and LaLa.

"Should I invite those other guys too?" She'd asked LaLa who was on the phone.

"Oh, you don't want too many people," LaLa liked the idea of a small dinner party, but she didn't really know Teegan and Andie.

"I should call Roman," Bea thought it might be nice to have her nephew over.

"Oh, you wouldn't." LaLa didn't like the mention of Roman, but Bea didn't care.

"Aren't you over him?" She shouted back at her phone. She was in the kitchen trying to find out what she had to make a meal from. She had decided on stew because she couldn't spend a fortune.

"All right already." Lala did sound a little angry, but they both knew Eddie was Paulie's best friend. "Can I bring anything?"

"Of course, you can," Bea told her anything would do. She just hoped it wasn't chips and Kool-aid. She remembered those college days. People saying they were bringing all sorts of food but then showing up with chips and a jug of Kool-aid (skimping on the sugar). If that be the case, Bea made sure she had more packets of Ranch dressing so she could make a dip, at least.

"I can't remember the last time I cooked," LaLa said she thought she was having memory problems.

"What are you talking about?" Bea winced.

"Oh, you know, since COVID I've been so tired."

"Are you sure that's all it is?" Bea shook her head at the thought that LaLa might be pregnant. Oh, she was just around too many babies lately. She needed to stop thinking of such silliness.

"What do you mean?"

"It's nothing." Bea shrugged as she went to her freezer hoping there might be some beef of some kind. After all, she only ate eggs and veg most nights.

  2. Congratulations on the post! We are all very tired in the face of 2 years of a pandemic.
that limits our tasks and way of being and acting.
Let's believe that better days will come.
    kisses and good morning.

  5. Who knows? Maybe Lala is indeed tired. Tiredness can be one of the symptoms of pregnancy. This is a lovely chapter. It's nice to see Lala and Bea catching up. Have a nice day!

  10. It's nice that Bea's getting the gang together. Also, I love her Hello Kitty sweater in the collage. It's natural that LaLa is a little weirded out by the prospect of seeing Roman again despite them being with other people. Parties always spell some kind of awkward!

I enjoyed hearing about your hat making adventures. This part was especially funny: "So then I started another from some leftover yarn she gave me. Ugh, I don't know who's hair this is, but it's not mine." Mystery hair is never good. Whenever I'm packaging orders, I'm careful not to catch any of my loose hairs (because they're always around!) in the tape. Anyway, I'm glad your hat turned out the way you wanted. :)
