Getting it together

LaLa felt so out of it. What was wrong with her these days? And when Caitlin told her what happened with Rico's girl, oh she felt she'd lost touch with everyone she knew. Especially, Mario and who he was with now.

She made a face of disgust. No way did she want to be friends with Mario's woman Bren. It just couldn't happen, but there Caitlin was asking if she and Paulie would like to join them for dinner sometime soon. She could meet Bren.

"Oh, I'll think about it," she said they were very busy.

"We're not that busy," Paulie told her after she got off the phone. He was in the residency program now.

She gritted a smile.

"You know, you want to," his smile always made everything better and of course, she kissed him before she even thought about it.

Maybe she did want to be a part of it. She liked her friends, and Mario's dad always asked to see if she was doing OK. He would be there too. Funny, how all the days seemed to melt together. No matter the cold nor sunny times. She had been busy at work.

She wanted to make more good memories. Yet, she felt a little selfish too. Paulie didn't spend nearly as much time with Eddie anymore. They had different schedules. Of course, she could go months without seeing Roman.

"You should call Eddie, see if he'd want to come over for dinner." She knew she needed to be kinder and possibly work on her cooking skills.

"We'd have to invite Roman too," Paulie wrapped his arms from behind her. He reminded her that they had survived Bea's dinner party.

"I don't want a crowd," LaLa leaned back into Paulie as his chin rested in the crux of her shoulder. This was the comfort she needed. After all, she wasn't all that fond of Bea's friends. She winced at the thought of Andie. What a loudmouth, LaLa thought. No way was she ever inviting Andie and her significant other to a dinner party.

  4. I think it's best to start with a small circle of friends. Besides, people like Andie are bullies and it's hard to have somebody like that when you want to surround yourself by good friends who support you. I don't think she's suffering. I think she's a loner, anyway.

  7. I'm glad to see that LaLa and Paulie are still going strong. They seem good for each other. And I understand LaLa's reluctance to mix with iffy people -- including exes! That's why her offer of entertaining Eddie and Roman is so significant. She's trying, and she knows that Roman's a good dude even if he is her ex. Best of all, he's no Andie!

I love what you've done with my sweater in the collage! And that floral dress is adorable. :)

  8. Lala should allow people in, I think. It can be heard but sometimes you have to lower down the walls you have built around yourself.

  9. I believe this chapter really shows the strong emotions that LaLa and Paulie feel for Eddie and Roman.
