it won't be long now

 "We will just take her with us," Megan said when her grandmother asked about the honeymoon. It was only midmorning and Megan already felt it should have been the afternoon. Cora did love her coloring books but she liked to be cuddled too. And she only wanted to watch Baby Shark on YouTube. They'd finally gotten to some other children programs, but the songs grew annoying after awhile.

"You'll do no such thing," Meme gave her a cross look. She'd been in the kitchen prepping lunch, making bento boxes. "You're only going to Kansas City."

"I know. So it..it shouldn't be a big deal," Megan shrugged. "Cora's been through enough already. We..we can't just leave her."

"I bet that kid's been left a lot of places. She can handle it." Meme told Megan.

Megan sighed, thinking it would be awful to leave Cora here with her grandparents. "I just can't."

"Oh yes, you can. You don't even have a car seat." Meme handed Cora a graham cracker who took it and licked then gave it back to Meme.

Megan only smiled. This would not go well. It wouldn't be right.

About then a knock came on the door, it was Cyrus with a car seat. Pixie was right behind him with grocery bags of goodies for Cora. 

"You two should be on your way," she said. "Cyrus and I will watch after Cora while you guys honeymoon." She then told her Deano would be here during the evening shift. "And we've got back up. Mario and Bren said they could help out during the daytime, and Rico, Liv and Alex will be here in the evening."

"Does Cori know about this?" Megan couldn't help but squint ever so slightly.

"We discussed it with him." Pixie nodded.

"You're OK with this, Cyrus?" Megan didn't quite understand it. Of course, Cyrus nodded with a big smile on his face.
