the heat is on

 "But..but what about Prom?" Rico asked Mario since they would be helping out at the pizzeria while Megan and Cori were on their honeymoon. He was over at Mario and Brens because that's where Liv wanted Bren's help with her summer wardrobe. 

"No worries, Bren and I will be there that night. I'm sure Alex will want to go too."

"Alex," Rico nodded. How could he forget about Alex? Still, he wasn't sure if anything was really happening with the Eric situation. He sighed and texted Alex then. Maybe he would want to come with them. Of course, there was Mona to think about too. Liv wanted her to come to prom with them, but of course, she would not call nor text Mona about it.

Rico blew a breath. Of course, Mona hadn't been receptive to him either. She was being rather sullen. He didn't know what her problem was. Here he'd worried about her and she didn't even care.

Alex texted back and said he'd ask Eric, but he didn't think he would go.

"Keep pestering him," Rico texted back. Of course, he decided to pester Mona. But first, he wanted to make sure Nic would go to prom. And Nic immediately responded with, "Sure."

Rico sighed. Maybe this would work out.

He texted Mona. "Look, I found you a date. So prom is on."

He knew she wouldn't respond. Maybe Nic could be Alex's date at this rate. Although, Rico wasn't sure what Nic would think if Alex showed up in a prom gown. Rico felt as if this prom stuff was taking a lot out of him, along with some worry too. He went to get him some lemonade from the fridge. Honestly, he needed to cool off. 

"Fine. Whatever." Mona finally texted back.

"Sweet." After he sent the text he knew he was too kind, but oh well. 

"So this whole prom thing cleared up?" Mario wanted to know as Mario was back with a load of clothes to fold from the dryer.

"I don't know." Rico shrugged. He went to help him fold towels while Mario sorted undies. Rico's phone dinged.

"PROM IS ON!" Rico smiled. It was a text from Alex.
