Wonder why you haven't before

"Oh, my gawd!" Jade was hoping Liv would call her. She didn't want to do any texting or calling until Liv let her know when was good to hear from her. Honestly, she envied her so much, but still, she was happy for her. 

Of course, Jade shut the door right in Ari's face and dropped to the bed as if this was a long-awaited event. Hearing from Liv. 

Jade was all smiles. She hoped Ari wasn't too mad, but sometimes, he'd hint that maybe she stressed over Liv too much. What was up with that? He'd ask.

Jade kept smiling listening to Liv talk about food and the market so close. 

"So how is it..at your brother's friend-" Jade winced wondering where she was going with that.

"It's good. He's really sweet. He's a bit of a clumsy guy, but you know, he can be funny." 

Jade knew Liv was smiling when she said it. 

"So..how long will you be there?" Jade thought she would be coming home soon.

"Oh, I don't know, I might stay longer," she then said.

"Really?" Jade sat up. How could that be? It was just a holiday, wasn't it? Was she in love with Nic or something?

"I'm thinking about it, I mean. I wouldn't stay at Nic's forever," she said. Then in a hushed voice, Liv said, "I think I've met my doppelganger."

"What?" Jade let a laugh slip. "How can that be?"

"I don't think we look that much alike," she sighed. "When she showed up, it really freaked Nic. Then she got freaked when she saw me. It was kind of hilarious." Liv giggled. "Well, maybe it wasn't that funny. I mean, I think it made her mad. She was really cold, you know."

"Are you trying to break them up?" Jade had to question Liv.

"No, of course not. She's just this co-worker. Her name is Felicity. I don't know if there is really anything there. I mean, Nic is kind of oblivious. I don't know if he'd know if he was even in love or not, but she's very protective of him. I can see that." Liv was quiet then. She asked how Jade was doing with her job.

"Oh, God, I'm glad Delia is back."

"I thought her name was Dale?" Liv said that her brother always called her Dale.

"Well, she's Delia. Dale is your brother's name for her?" Jade winced at the thought of wondering what Tristan's pet name would be for her. She couldn't think of anything. Of course, it hurt to have thoughts of him. She pressed her lips thinking she needed to just ask Liv what she planned to do.

"I have no plan," Liv was blunt. "I don't want to go home. I don't want to come back. There is nothing there for me."

"Oh, Liv, don't say that," Jade was concerned about the negativity in Liv's voice. 

"I want to just find where I'm needed," Liv told her. "I don't want to mess up anything Nic has going with Felicity. I mean, a part of me thinks, wouldn't it be cool to have someone who calls me Olivia? Like we could be sisters. But..but I don't want to live with her. I wouldn't."

"I miss you, Liv- Olivia." Jade told her.

"I miss you too," Liv told her she loved her and waited for her to say it back. This was new to Jade. She never said that to her sister. Even if she knew she should.

"Love you," Jade said it back. 

She almost felt like crying but she didn't. Surly, Liv would come to her senses and get back home before the first snow.
