what are friends for

 

Rico was glad they made it in time to help set up the beds. He and Mario brought down a loveseat from his Dad's. It was the perfect size for the studio apartment. Of course, Liv wouldn't come with them. She was afraid she might see Tristan. Obviously, Rico wanted to see him. Not that he would say anything.

He just didn't know if he could keep it a secret from Nic about Tristan's troubled past. Didn't he know?

Nic was happy to see Rico. Mona looked tired. But she'd started her job at the coffee shop. Granted, it was her first job. While Jade was a ball of energy. She helped with everything. 

Rico couldn't help but to watch Jade and Tristan together. Maybe she was good for him. They were rather comfortable together.

"Do you guys need anything else?" Rico offered a small wooden dining table they had in their basement.

"How about a TV?" Jade asked ever so brightly.

"We do not need a TV, besides you are always watching TV with him," Mona let slip as if she was used to being in a spat with Jade.

Rico chuckled. Oh, he hoped it worked out. But he knew it was all new to Mona. It would take some time.

But soon enough, the place was looking cozy. Rico asked Jade what her favorite color was.

"Um, green of course," she smiled. "But I like orange too."

He thought he might paint the table. He didn't think the color would clash with their hodgepodge of belongings. Really, he wasn't sure he had anything to report back to Liv about Tristan. As it was, Tristan was helpful in putting things together. and moving everything in place. 

Honestly, Rico didn't want to stir up trouble for anyone.
