Finding out you weren't just an ex, after all

 "Well, I don't know what I should do," LaLa was in a huff and Roman just looked at her as she kicked the wall in the corridor near where he worked.

"You're just overreacting like you always do," he told her with his hands on his hips. Really, he knew she could be furious over nothing. "Do you even know what you want?"

She sighed with a pout. 

"You always wanted a doctor," he nodded. "You said so, yourself."

She crossed her arms as her long hair came around her face. Finally, she pulled it back behind her ears and gave him a stare.

"I know I have my goals," she shot back. "It's just-" she sighed. "I'm not sure I deserve  him."

"Oh, because he's so good to you, is that it?" Roman tilted his head as if she needed to be a little bit kinder to herself. "It's up to you, sis. You try to think about happiness a little harder. Don't worry about those goals. Just enjoy right now." He was serious. "If the sex wasn't any good, you know you wouldn't be hanging around."

LaLa scrunched a frown as if he was no help at all. Still, he knew he'd given her a lot to think on. Before he knew it, Paulie showed up. Obviously, Eddie must have been watching and texted him. After all, they worked at the hospital.

Of course, Paulie made things right. Roman hoped they weren't wrong for each other. He knew Paulie thought the world of her. If only he knew how troubled she really felt. But sometimes, we could be our worst enemy, he thought.

He called Eddie.

"I saw what you did," he said after LaLa and Paulie left.

"Oh, he would want to know, wouldn't he?" Eddie asked.

"What did you tell him?" Roman wanted to know.

"Not that much, but he's afraid she's getting bored," Eddie said.

"Do you think they'll break up?" Roman wondered.

"Doubt it, he's gonna give her a ring," Eddie said Paulie found a house that he hoped she liked.
