I'm on the comedown speed

 

Mona was just about to call the police. But she couldn't decide if she should call 911 or 311. It wasn't exactly a disaster. She just figured Jade was with YOU KNOW WHO. She hadn't kept tabs on what Tristan was up to lately.

She was all giddy and silly with her Nic who took her on lots of walks and always found passion behind a tree or two. Oh, he could kiss her with such passion when no one was around. And yet, he loved being outdoors. All these plans of going camping before it got too cold were all he could talk about. Why couldn't they just stay in at his place or..well, they could have spent some time at her place because Jade did not come home.

She did not like being anyone's keeper, but she was her partner at the coffee shop. They always showed up together. They were the perfect team. She took orders and Jade did the rest. No way could she man the whole place. Although, she'd seen Weezer do it. 

She breathed in and breathed out. What the hell was Jade doing? Mona was firey mad. She was spitting curse words under her breath. That girl was trouble, after all.

But she heard a ding of the door expecting a customer. Thank God, it was Jade who looked a bit under the weather, but her hair was wet as if she'd just gotten out of the shower.

"WHERE IN THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN?" Mona roared with a perturbed look.

"Well, nice to see you too." She yawned and went to put on her apron as if the day could begin.

"I was worried," Mona decided to say, and she was, but she didn't want Jade to think it.

"Were you?" Jade looked back at her cool and calm. "You were with Nic, weren't you?"

"Yeah, and you were with Tristan." Mona gave her a dead stare. Jade said nothing in return but got to the machines to make sure the coffee was brewing and the machines were working. She was so quiet. Evidently, it hadn't been as good for her as it had been for Mona.

Well, of course, she always wanted more with Nic, but she hadn't let on. She liked that he was so sweet and funny and a lot like what it was supposed to be in high school..although, she'd missed out on all of that once she got with Tristan.

It made her mad just thinking about Tristan now. Honestly, she felt a little sick for Jade. She shook her head.

"Are you sure you're OK?"

Jade nodded and apologized for being late, but she said nothing else. Mona sighed. Why was Jade like this? Couldn't she talk about Tristan with her? Mona kept her mouth shut as she worried just a little. Then a customer came in and she smiled as if it was best to get her act together before she worried too much.
