more than, more than

Cyrus was happy that Pixie liked the ring. Yes, the plan was to get married next year.

"But, it'll be here sooner than you think?" He reminded her. Just how soon did she want to get married? Of course, she swatted him back playfully, there in their bed on Christmas morn. They didn't have to go far to celebrate the holiday. They were in matching pajamas hoping to stay in bed all day. After all, it was still horribly cold and snow was in the forecast again.

Although, he knew he'd have to be thinking about warming up the pizza ovens. He was in charge now. This thrilled Cyrus and almost had him in panic mode, but Pixie promised to help. Besides, Nonnie would be there the day after Christmas. It would all be back to normal. Not a thing to worry about.

After all, Megan had her baby. They'd chatted with Cori and her grandmother came around when the contractions began.

Of course, they both thought her grandmother was going to go with them, but  Megan's grandpa said she needed to stay out of the way. And there was Cora to worry about.

Cora was of course, in Christmas mode. She wanted everyone to be with her, and to play with her and the new doll house that Cori and Cyrus had spent weeks putting together.  Oh, all was cozy above the pizzeria these days. Sometimes, Cyrus felt it was another world away.

And now to be put on the spot to run the pizzeria. Oh, he was on pins and needles.

Finally, the phone rang. It was Nonnie. He was expecting bad news. She'd say she was sick. Oh, it would be worst. What if she was in the hospital?

"Look, why don't you take a break," she said instead.

"What?" She wasn't supposed to be telling him what to do. This was supposed to be the other way around.

 "I have extra help."

"Help?"

"You remember Weezer don't you?" Nonnie asked.

"Uh." Cyrus really wasn't good with names.

"That guy who always picks me up after work."

"Oh, that guy."

"He's really good with fast food." She told him. "He says he's got nothing better to do. So you just have a good holiday. OK?"

"OK." Cyrus smiled as if he'd won the lottery. Of course, he wouldn't get paid, but he was OK with that. He just wanted to stay in, and of course, be with Pixie.

  6. Oh, I'm so happy for Cyrus and Pixie! There were times when I was afraid that they wouldn't make it -- and now they're getting married! Of course, marriage isn't the end, just the beginning. But I think these two have what it takes for the long haul. And it was especially sweet that they could spend Christmas together in bed because Nonnie and Weezer took care of the shop. Best gift ever! 🎄🎁💖💚🍕💟💍
