Weakened when you get deep in

Ali did try to be on her best behavior at Diago's. She did her best to make Diago the perfect son and boyfriend. Although, she didn't know how. Not really. Oh, she didn't know how to speak that sweetly. Every time a question came her way, she thought, 'what would Liv say?'

Really, Ali didn't know all the little things that went along with meeting the parents. It was definitely the first time. Maybe it had to do with always being out of his/her element when he/she would visit dear old dad for the holidays. They were never on the same page. Or were they just too much alike? Ali never believed that to be true, but her mother would bring it up from time to time.

It still seemed odd to Ali that his/her parents weren't together anymore. Of course, that had happened almost ten years ago. When Ali found out his/her mom Louisa was going to Liv and Rico's for Thanksgiving, Ali wanted to go too. And as many questions, as Louisa had for Ali about Thanksgiving, he/she had lots of questions about Thanksgiving for her too.

Not that Ali would ever expose the fun times in Diago's room nor the cuddling on the couch when everyone was in the kitchen. Ali doubted his/her mom had that much fun, but she did talk an awful lot about Rico's dad. What could this mean?

Of course, Ali just about fainted when Diago's parents hugged her and hoped she would be there for Christmas. Ali couldn't help to be giddy. Naturally, Diago's mother told Ali to smile more. She had a very nice smile.

Ali was in such shock. It felt as if none of this could possibly be true. Did they have any idea who Ali actually was?

"You don't think your dad would go out with Ali's mom, do you?" Liv found herself asking a few days later after Thanksgiving.

Rico looked at her out of the corner of his eye as if that was an insane question. He practically gulped.

"If..if Ali's mom got together with my dad..that would mean..." his eyes lit with a sigh.

Naturally, Liv gave him a hug there in the kitchen. She gave him an open smile. "You know Ali really needs a big brother."

Rico squinted with a laugh as if Liv was just joking.

"It could happen," she told him, ever so fondly. He shook with laughter and then nodded with a sigh.

"Oh, my dad does love relationships," Rico told her.

She pushed a lock of is long dark bangs away from his eyes and looked at his dark eyes. "You are so different from your dad," Liv said.

"Oh really?" He smiled at her. "How so?"

"I dunno. You seem like the type who can go the distance. Like..you know, when you get your mind set there's no turning back, there no moving on to something or someone else," Liv hope she didn't sound weird. "I like that about you."

Rico smiled back and she kissed him deeply then as if he was all she ever needed.

  5. The holidays can be so tough, and especially for Ali having to walk that tightrope.

  6. Diago's mom telling Ali to smile is a very tender scene. Here she/he is, worrying about making a good impression on Diago's family, and they're already accepting her/him. Or are they? It's that question that makes all the hard-won coziness that much more transient. I feel for Ali. This is tough.

Rico and Liv speculating about Rico's dad and Ali's mom is sweet and fun. But that last part, "Rico smiled back and she kissed him deeply then as if he was all she ever needed." is pure passion and comfort. Nice! 💖💖💖💖💖
