Running just as fast as we can

 "Are you serious?" Jade didn't know what to think when Liv told her about Tristan showing up.

"He wanted to talk to you," Liv said.

Jade wasn't sure how to react. Certainly, it was a little to late. Who did he think he was? Oh, this annoyed her to no end. What did he want? Jade remained close-lipped as if this was no time to spew nonsense. As it was, she was very much with Ari now.

Even if Ari was so in hopes she would move right in, she had said NO. No it was best they were in their own place. For now. Really, she had classes to worry about, work. She really needed this time to be on her own, even if it was with Mona. But then again, what if Mona had decided to move in with Nic? Then what?

Of course, Rico and Liv had had a breakfast party of some sort, but they were cleaning up. Even Pan and Roxanne were helping too. It seemed they'd gone waffle crazy. Rico put the last of them in the freezer. 

Oh, if they'd all go away. Seriously, she needed real sleep. But thoughts of Tristan were on her mind. Had he wanted ....

She doubted he wanted anything from her. What else was going on with him? They spoke of this girl with pink hair. 

"We thought, they just might run off together, or something." Rico shrugged about the matter as if they'd all be happy if he left.

Jade pressed her lips tight. She didn't want to hear anything negative about Tristan.

"But, we really had a good talk," Liv then filled her in. "I know he's trying. I think he just needs to be on his own and not worry about anyone, but himself."

Jade nodded. His sister was probably right. 

"My parents kept his pickup truck, after all," Liv told her. Suddenly, Jade felt numb. She wanted to know how he really was, but it felt as if she was in a completely different world now and it was time to let him go, hoping he had a great new year.
