It's like this

"I just think he wants me to work for him," Dora shrugged when Derrick asked her about that fellow who was coming regularly to the yoga studio.

Derrick shook his head. It didn't look that way to him. How could she not see how he looked at her? The way he smiled. This guy was after something.

"How do you know him?" Derrick kept his eyes on Dora who was of course busy on the computer.

"I don't." She winced as if she needed time to think about that.

"Stop what you're doing, let's see if there is any yogurt in the breakroom." He wanted her to get up and move around. Sometimes, he wondered if Frankie was a slave driver. She always left late. Although, she just said she was slow, but she did three times the work that Delia ever did.

Dora got up and practically sat back down. Her legs were asleep.

"See, you can't just sit here all the time," Derrick helped her up. She didn't let him help her long. Of course, she gave him a report that over a dozen of his crochet critters had been sold. Valentine's day was evidently a good factor.

Derrick nodded. Really, he didn't care. "You keep the money," he told her on their way to the breakroom, but in the next breath, he was asking her to order more yarn for him.

But after they broke out the strawberry yogurt he asked if she'd gone out on a date with this guy.

"Not really, we just saw each other at the Stop and Go." She told him. "He walked me home. Apparently, we live in the same neighborhood."

"I don't like this at all," Derrick snapped. "You need to be careful who you talk to."

"Oh, I'm not going to work for him," Dora squinted a smile.

"That's not what I'm worried about," Derrick admitted. "I'm just afraid you'll-"

"What?" She looked at him with open eyes as if she couldn't imagine what he was thinking.

"Did you tell Delia about  him?" Derrick pressed for an answer as if he'd be the only big brother she would ever need. Dora dug deep into the yogurt cup and took a spoonful. She didn't speak for the longest time. Really, she was precious and he would hate for anyone to hurt her.

"Oh, I can't. She really wants to go out with him," Dora finally said. "And maybe it'll happen yet, but he seems to know when she's not here. And he likes to chat."

"Don't be friends with him," Derrick looked at her a little bug-eyed. Dora looked up at him and just laughed.

  2. It's sweet how Derrick's so protective of Dora. I do wonder, though, if his concerns equal foreshadowing on the Holden front. I haven't made up my mind about Holden yet (although I did enjoy his meet-cute with Dora!) and I am sure you'll show us many fascinating facets of him. Also, I love that Derrick's crochet creations are selling!

Very cute V-Day flair in the collage! 😍💜💖💌💟💛💘🎀💋🩰

  5. This is cute, but I'm a little worried. Hopefully this guy is legit but the part about he knows when she's not there got my attention. It sounds like from the comment above though that we've met this guy before though- maybe I kssed that one or it slipped my mind.
