Oh, he came very close to being in a liplock with him. It wasn't out of lust but compassion. Honestly, Roman wasn't sure what was going on with Deano and Caitlin. But the boy looked like hell and in need of a decent night of sleep.
Of course, he went home and made crazy love with Eddie til almost dawn. Now Eddie thought he was on something.
"Well, you just about killed me," Eddie said at breakfast. "What are you taking these days?" Eddie was a little bug-eyed. After all, they'd had a very heavy-duty January into February with their jobs. Co-workers were on cruises and trips to Disney. It just meant over-time for the two of them.
"Maybe we need a vacation," was about all Roman said about the matter as he drank his coffee while Eddie made waffles.
"I dunno, where would we go," he mentioned they were going to start up the pub quiz in March at the regular place they hung out with Cyrus and their so-called round table of winners. "We have to start studying."
"You would," Roman didn't mean to be perturbed. He just thought it was time they took the next step in their relationship. They had a cat already. "No, I was thinking of something important."
Of course, everything was very important to Eddie. Like repairing outfits for dance recitals and what else they might need down at the dance studio. He was pretty good with Ti Chi too and was a substitute on occasion at Frankie's yoga studio. It was a second job, but he wouldn't admit it.
"We just need to tie the knot," Roman said about the matter. It had scared him with Deano. He knew he would have scared Deano even more if something had happened. They would never be friends again. And Deano was his oldest friend.
"What are you talking about?" Eddie brought him a plate of waffles covered in strawberries and blueberries. Of course, there was half a tub of COOL WHIP on it too.
"You know, we talked about this before," Roman was serious.
"Well, you were a little drunk then. You were probably even drunker last night." Eddie told him as he got to his plate and took a fork of turkey sausage.
"I was not," Roman practically snapped. "It was real. You and me."
"I'll say." Eddie looked at him, and Roman swore he saw a smile curl on the end of his lips but Eddie took in a mouthful of cream and strawberries too.
He winced thinking it was all cabin fever, winter, and wondering what he really could do for old friends. Absolutely nothing, he guessed.
"I'm gonna ask my Auntie if she'll marry us," he said it didn't have to be a big deal.
"Of course, it's a big deal," Eddie wanted to make them both suits.
"Hell, that'll take forever," Roman pouted.
"No, it won't. I've designed them and everything." He'd already cut out the patterns. "You look so great in baby blue."
"What are you gonna wear?" Roman could see this might happen by the end of summer.
"White, of course."

Genial fragmento Te mando un beso.
ReplyDeleteAw, I'm so happy for Roman and Eddie! And it was interesting learning more about Roman's history with Deano. I'm glad he channeled what he was feeling for Deano toward Eddie, especially because it led to an engagement. Also, I love that Eddie's making their wedding suits! 💙🤍💟
