"Yes, we're at the hospital," Nonnie told Weezer that she'd called Rox's mom and she was here too. "I don't know how long she might be here. Maybe a day or two." She didn't think it would be to bad. They'd have a chat. Watch her overnight. She'd get the meds she needed. It sounded simple, but Nonnie knew how complicated it could be.
"Did you want me to bring you some food?" Weezer asked.
"I'm coming home," Nonnie said. "Her mom is here."
"But she'll want you, not her mom," Weezer knew.
"Well, I'm not her mom." Nonnie let it go at that. Really, she wished she could just relax. It was hard being a good friend. Nonnie didn't know if she was any help or not, but she couldn't leave it alone with Rox. She reminded Weezer that Pan and Rox had broken up. "Can you tell him what happened?"
She drove their little economy Kia back to the apartments. There was a Panera salad waiting for her and the green tea she liked too. Delia was also in the kitchen sporting her scar like it might be from a vampire.
"I'm so glad you were there for Rox. I didn't know." Her smile kind of looked full of sadness. She'd never noticed that before about Delia.
"Well, it was all an accident or God's will," Nonnie said. Really, she wasn't a religious person, yet she couldn't help to think God had a hand in all this. It was just something engrained she guessed.
"I hope she'll be OK?"
"Oh, it might take years for something like that to happen," Nonnie sighed with a smile. She sat down to eat.
"Weezer went to Pan's," Delia said. About then Tristan got home. Of course, they were full of hugs and smooch on the lips. She went off with him to their room.
For a second Nonnie felt herself shaking. She couldn't seem to eat fast enough. She did her best to sip the drink slowly. She knew her blood sugar was low.
Finally, Weezer came back.
"Hey, are you gonna need a shower," he smiled as if that was a thing they would do together.
She smiled at him as if she never knew how much joy there was with Weezer in the little things.
"What did Pan say?" Nonnie wanted to know.
"Oh, he stood his ground, but I know he'll cave. He always does when it comes to Rox. Really, I can't see him with anyone else." Weezer told her.
Nonnie guessed he was right. Hopefully, Rox would believe that too.
Oh good that she's at the hospital. I'm glad too that Delia is doing well. Nice conversation- I can just imagine Nonni in the litchen there, eating,e xhausted. I love these relationships.

ReplyDeleteHospitals are not good places . Hopefully, Rox recovers, and Nonni, the good friend that returned home, found comfort in her talking to Weezer.

ReplyDeleteInteresting going here.
ReplyDeleteI knew that Nonnie would still be there for Rox! But this is hard on Nonnie too. That's why I'm so glad that she has Weezer and can appreciate each small thing with him. I was also glad to see that Delia's doing okay! ππ£
