Everything counts in large amounts

Ari must have quizzed Justin for weeks about what his next move might be. Finally, Ari confessed what was on his mind.

"You can't stay with me forever."

Of course, Ari saw the shock on his so-called brother at least in a soul-searching sense. He guessed. However, Ari was growing old with that concept. Yes, Ari was adulting these days with his new job at the lab in the hospital. He did more than the usual blood test. It was a learning environment for him.  Wasn't that one of the rules Warren Buffet talked about? Never stop learning.

He knew it would mean nothing to Justin. Honestly, he'd figured him out. Sadly, he'd never suspected Justin was such a dufus. He seemed to have mastered the English language at least in his text and emails. Just what was holding Justin back?

"But..but I like it here," Justin shrugged back as if he was all of a four-year-old who didn't know anything about washing dishes nor how to use a vacuum.

"I know you do," Ari looked at him blankly and waited for something. But nothing.

"You should apply for your green card then," Ari shrugged.

"A green card?" Justin stammered back. It was as if he was lost in the crowd, even if they were waiting for coffee at the little coffee shop at the hospital. There was a help wanted sign.

"Maybe you could work here," Ari smiled. Justin looked as if that was an awful idea.

"Look, you won't be twenty-seven forever," Ari glared him in the eye. "You gotta take care of yourself. That means you need to make a living, somehow."

Justin was mute.

"Got any ideas?" Ari didn't think he did. "You might find yourself a woman who can meet all your needs, but then you better be ready to meet her needs too. She might like someone who knows how to take out the trash." Ari grabbed their coffees and handed one to Justin.

Justin was still looking at him as if he didn't know what to do. They walked toward personnel.

"Let's get you started as a page," he told him. "Maybe you could move up to an orderly and who knows where it could go from there." Ari smiled. "I've looked into a place for you to live. It's a studio. I'll even pay the first two months' rent for you."

"Why are you doing this?" Justin sounded bewildered.

"Because I want to get back to my own life," Ari told him. "I can't leave Jade hanging any longer. I love her. She means everything to me."

Justin pressed his lips tight.

"Now, if you want to go home," Ari sounded as if he'd make sure he could be back by the end of the week.

"There's nothing there for me," Justin shook his head, no.

"Well, there might not be much here for you either, it depends on you." Ari meant every word.

  1. I'm so glad ari wised up (that sounds bad but I don't mean it critical) and Justin clearly needs a firm hand to grow up some. So glad to see ari laying down the law (and realizing Jade needs him).

Oh, Justin! I applaud Ari's tough-love approach to him, and his kindness in getting him a page job. Also, Ari's passion for Jade. 🤣😍🤣😍
