Switch it up like Nintendo

 "Jared went on a date?" Jade was surprised to hear Carmen talk about it, especially at work. They were both at their work stations. Basically, they were who you met at the door when you came into the dance studio. It was quiet and almost time for breaktime. However, they were both avoiding the breakroom. Instead, they sat at their desk.

"Yes, it was a double date," Carmen said. Jared was still friends with Kevin, whom he used to assist when he worked at the University.

"Imagine that, still being friends with your boss," Jade looked at her blankly. Carmen chuckled. Her smile was open.

"Well, he survived. He knows Nori from work. They aren't in the same department. Actually, she had a job a lot like ours, but at the police station." Carmen told her.

"Have you met her?" Jade was curious. She stretched her arms, thinking she couldn't sit here too much longer. She needed to be moving.

"No, not yet. Maybe soon." Carmen said she'd like to have a little dinner party. Although she liked having her Saturdays for sleeping in.

"We could do it on a Friday night."

"We?" Carmen looked at her out of the corner of her eye.

"Yeah, I could help." Jade was up for the challenge.

"You know how Fridays get around here." Carmen looked at her wide-eyed.

"OK, I guess you are right." She sighed.

"It'll be better on a Saturday. We could do it," Carmen stretched and yawned.

Jade looked over at Carmen's stomach. Instantly thinking, Carmen was expecting. Naturally, this left Jade a little sad. She wanted to be the one pregnant. Carmen had put on weight. Why was that? 

About then, Eric showed up with a bag of bagels and cream cheese.

"I bought the pumpkin spice ones." He shrugged.
