an awakening

 I'M COMING OVER.

His text awoke Tori. It was after midnight. There was Dylan at the door in a matter of seconds. She was in shock. She wanted to scream but she didn't. She was not in the mood for his apologies. It felt as if  her life was hanging in the balance. And Dylan had a way of intensifying it. She bit her bottom lip before she could say anything more. She closed the door and showed him to her room.

"Just," Dylan's eyes were so sad and she hated to see him this way. "Just let me hold you."

"But, but I might be sick," she was certain it was a bad idea, and yet her body was willing. She winced with the idea that it couldn't happen. It wouldn't. Not now. Not ever. But each second he was there she could feel her body heave just a little closer toward him.

"I don't care. I want to be sick if you're sick," Dylan said.  She thought she might pass out from those very words, but he caught her in his grasp and he kissed her as if he meant every word of what he'd said. Before she knew it they were on her bed and she'd never felt so supple to any other touch. She wanted to have a different mindset, but it was too late. Dylan was already there. 

"Why? Why would you scare me like that?" She shook her head, thinking he made her feel she'd been perhaps captured by aliens at an unknown time, but to be returned with a secret she didn't even know. What if everything Dylan said was true?

"Maybe, maybe it's because I don't like the guy," Dylan confessed even lipped, holding on to her as if he was taking the last stand. "He's done weird things with Caitlin too."

"How weird?" Tori wanted to know, even if she wanted to tell Dylan not to be so close, yet it was cozy and suddenly she felt they were some dynamic duo ready to crack the case, which so happened to be easy going slacker Melvin who looked like a dumb pop-star.

"She slept with him the first night they met," Dylan told her and Tori knew he wasn't talking about real sleep. Yet, she was the one who dozed off in his car.

Tori cringed at the thought. She sucked in a breath, tears begin to purge. He wrapped himself around her.

"Why would you want to be with somebody like me?" She reminded him of her anxieties and her terrible life.

"Because, you are so honest," Dylan said. "It makes me want to be honest too. The day is just better when you are around."

The way he looked at her, she couldn't help but believe it was true. And she hadn't felt this strong in a very long time. Tori couldn't help to give in.

Her heart shook as if it were the new beginning of something and she felt as if it was a force she could devour. Only it was Dylan. Exploring, kissing her in a lull from her lips to her breasts. He fingered her ever so gently and she was certain he was the only drug she'd ever need. 

Yes, she gave in with a slight whimper. But when the tears came it was only of joy not dread. It was fascinating and exhilarating. She didn't know until now just how important he was to her. It couldn't be faked. Something so genuine finally arrived and his mouth found it immensely.
