You are the sky. Everything else is just the weather.

 "I don't want to talk about it," Dylan hid in the bathroom while on the phone with Caitlin. Oh, she must have loved this situation he was in with Tori, he thought. Her texts were nonstop as of late. "Just don't say a word."

"I'm not."

"Do you even know how?" He kept his voice low. "We all know who the father is, but to everyone. .. I am."

He heard Caitlin's sigh. "Are you sure you can even handle it?" She sounded caring, but he was doubtful.

"Yes. I am." He was a nervous wreck, but he couldn't let it show. He hoped Tori wouldn't go over the edge. He needed to keep her spirits up. 

"Well, let us help?"

"How?" Dylan squinted hard, feeling everyone needed to leave them alone. This was their problem. He wanted to call the police and yet he hadn't. After all, the person responsible for all of Tori's predicament was in the ICU. "Just leave us alone."

"You don't mean that," Caitlin said. "We're family. We want to be there for you guys."

"What?" He didn't even want to listen to her. He plopped down on the toilet. He hadn't dare tell his mother about this. He had no idea how she'd take it. It was true. He did need support. But what could Caitlin actually do? She was probably on Melvin's side.

"You know, who's baby this really is," Dylan didn't have to explain it.

"Um." She couldn't even answer him properly. "I know it isn't easy to grasp it right now. I just want to keep believing you are. You have to make it true." She sounded as if they would all suffice through this. Even Tori. "You've always been my best friend, and I have to think what's best for you. I want you to be happy and we have to be happy for both of you."

Dylan felt his heart pound harder in his chest. He needed to keep going and not look back.
