Being in a fantastic mood, just because

Tristan saw the pic first. Well, Nic did send it to him on his phone.

Tristan was happy to see Nic smiling. He didn't really notice the girl so much. He winced then as he looked at her. Wait a minute, he thought..shouldn't she be...

"Oh, I want to look," Dale peaked over her arm. "Who's Nic with?"

"Somebody he met in Seoul." Tristan was even-lipped as his bangs fell in his eyes. He didn't really get a good look at her.

"She's in Seoul with him?" Now Dale looked at him funny.

"Um, maybe she's from the States, you know, like New York City." He shrugged as if it was no big deal.

Dale nodded. "You aren't going to show this to Mona, are you?"

"Of course, not." He winced hard.

She nodded as she went to their bathroom to brush her teeth. Tristan kept staring at the picture, trying to figure this out. Nic said her name was Felicity. He thought about yelling the news to Dale but decided it was best to keep this quiet.

"Mona could work at the pizza place," Dale said as she was rinsing out her mouth.

"Oh," Tristan put his phone away as he was getting his backpack ready for work.

"Or she could work for Hoyt's mom," Dale told him.

Tristan nodded. He knew which one she would say she was going to do and which one she would actually do, but he wouldn't mention it. It was best to go on with things. Sometimes, it was best not to know. And he did his best to stay out of Mona's way. She didn't like having meals with them anyway. She said he was a cheapskate. Maybe he was, but these were things Nic would have done. Maybe it was a good thing Nic left when he did.

  9. Ah, so now Tristan knows that Felicity is his doppelganger! I think he's wise to keep it from Mona, at least for the time being. The last paragraph really captures all the tension there:

"Tristan nodded. Maybe it was a good thing Nic left when he did."

I can so see Mona calling Tristan a cheapskate. And yeah, her relationship with Nic definitely seemed to have surpassed its expiration date. I agree that's it good he left! ๐Ÿ’”๐Ÿšซ๐Ÿ’ฐ

Thanks for including my top in the collage! It's funny, when I bought it, I thought of it as a filler piece, something I wouldn't wear or use a lot. But it's surprisingly photogenic, and now I'm thinking about when I can wear it again. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’œ

This doesn't really go with this chapter because it comes from your comment and refers to Liv, but I agree that girl drama is sometimes necessary to bring characters (and real people!) closer. Yet no matter how contentious things get, you always show us that! ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿผ‍๐Ÿค‍๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿป
