"You better watch yourself," that tone Frankie used made Pix's lips twitch just a little more. He came so close that it gave her a shiver and she jumped back almost into the hot coffeemaker at the kitchen counter.
"Why do you make it seem..as if..you know..I'm up to no good?" Deer in the headlights as she was, she just didn't know why Frankie was trying to be the guardian from hell.
"Aren't you?" His dark eyes were in a serious stare down with her, but then he walked away with his coffee as if this conversation was over..yet not.
"You were late coming in," he said from the livingroom couch.
Pix fixed herself a coffee with a little bit of sugar and of course some milk. It would be a late breakfast. She remained closed-lipped. Didn't he realize she'd gone to her other job too?
Suddenly, her mind rushed back to the moment last night.
"Do you want to do something with me?" Oh, the way Cyrus' lips curled up on the ends, Pix wasn't sure what she was in store for.
"Like what?" She was practically a bunny then waiting to get cozy.
"Well, come here," Cyrus laughed softly. "I'll show you."
They went to his laptop. There was a big fat microphone that looked kind of like.. She couldn't stop laughing over the thought of something sexual.
"I like your voice," Cyrus said.
"Uh-huh." She'd looked at him blankly with an open grin as if this had to be so spectacular. And well, it actually was, but she didn't know until now.
He wanted to do a podcast with her.
"Come on, it'll be fun." He kept grinning as if it might be the best time she ever had.
"Oh, gawd..I dunno..I talk kind of funny." She'd shrugged.
"But I like that about you. I like your Canadian accent."
"But I'm from Minnesota." She giggled.
"I bet you know a little French too." He got the program all set as if he was ready for this interview. That's when he said, "Talk to me in French."
Just now she almost choked on her coffee. "It's not anything like you think," she told her roommate. Besides, no way would Frankie ever believe her.

ReplyDeleteA podcast! Well, everyone else has one, so why not Cyrus and Pixie? I can't wait to hear what it's about. Knowing Cyrus, it's bound to be a must-listen. Also, Frankie seems awfully angry with Pixie. Maybe he's taking out the whole Heather/Bea thing on her.
