Cori had another eye checkup. His eyes were no better nor worse. The doctor reminded him why his left eye was damaged. It was apparent it was from some sort of fight, like domestic violence. Yes, it was true he could go blind, but he hadn't yet.
"I still have to wonder if the eye stroke was COVID related," the doctor said. "I've been hearing all sort of strange COVID-related stuff, even mini-strokes."
Cori assured him he'd gotten vaccinated and that he in his fiancee made appointments to get their COVID booster. Honestly, Cori didn't know when he wasn't a nervous wreck lately. Why was life so complicated?
Sure, he was happy to be with Megan and her family had made him feel he was part of the family.
"All we have to do is plan the wedding," her grandmother had told him they hoped they would marry soon.
Cori wished he knew how to fix this before it got any more complicated. Honestly, he would do whatever Megan wanted.
Meanwhile, Megan's grandfather got on at the Yoga studio where Frankie worked. They were in dire need of a Ti Chi instructor and evidently, people loved that he taught a class every day of the week.
His stamina shocked Cori. The old man was in such good shape. And they lived in a camper trailer.
"I want you to know the basics," Megan's grandfather took him aside as if he had a legacy of some kind to teach him.
Cori wanted to shake his head, no.
"Oh, I'm just a student." He knew he had no talent for the graceful art.
"Learn it, and practice it every day," George told him. Cori nodded knowing the old man could go into an exercise anywhere. He didn't have to wear anything special. The body went into a motion of elegance that Cori was certain would take decades to learn.
😊😊😊Interesting

Hope Cori's eyes get better!
ReplyDeleteThe contrast between Cori's health issues and Megan's grandfather's astonishing good health is interesting. I feel for Cori; going blind sounds like one of the worst things that can happen to a person. And finding out that the eye stroke was the cause of a physical fight was even more disturbing. Still, it sounds like Megan's grandfather has much to teach Cori. I sense their friendship will be a good one. :)
ReplyDeleteI hope that things will get better for Cori. 🤞
