Here in the now

Liv thought maybe she was asking for to much. Still, she wanted to be friends with Mona even if the past hadn't been so great with her brother. There were so many questions she wanted to ask her brother's girlfriend. Obviously, they weren't together anymore.

"I can't believe she's going with us," Liv couldn't help but smile when Rico told her the news.

"Are you really sure, you're OK with this?" Rico looked doubtful, but Liv gave him a nod.

"I think I need to do this," she said, as if she was the one who somehow came between Mona and Tristan, yet she pondered if she was the one who came between Mona and Rico. She wouldn't dare bring it up. A part of her only wanted to be Rico's friend and yet as the Prom neared, maybe she wanted something more.

He mentioned that Nic was going with them.

"Great!" She was happy to hear, even if she tried her best to keep up with takeout orders at the pizzeria. Honestly, she didn't have time to worry if this was all the wrong idea. Funny, how she would wake up in the middle of the night thinking she was the idiot in all this. Didn't she know to leave well enough alone? What was wrong with her? It was as if she was testing Rico all the time to do things for her. And he was in the room next to hers now.

She did her best not to look upset or out of it. They were going to have a good time. Prom was a time to celebrate. And hopefully, she and Mona could be friends. But maybe she was asking for too much. They kept busy as the evening wore on. She was glad they didn't stay open late. Honestly, she was glad when it was over. No way could she keep two jobs and school.

"Aren't you tired?" She asked later after Rico drove them home.

"Not really." He shrugged. Liv watched him go to the fridge for a snack. Her stomach growled while he ate a brownie dunked in a glass of milk.

"I think you need one of these." He went to get her a brownie.

"Oh, I couldn't." She said at this rate no way could she get into her prom dress.

"You'll fit in it, just fine." He brought her a glass of milk too. Of course, she didn't look at the treat long. She ate as if it was a relief of some kind. Maybe she was worrying too much about Prom, after all.

  1. Sometimes, we get nervous no matter what. It's good that Liv wants to be friends with Mona. I think she needs more friends. Especially those that are female.

  4. Liv has a lot to deal with! And yet, I think she has a balanced attitude. She's aware that things could go south but still looks on the bright side. I like that. Also, your collage has me craving pizza. :)
