Life of the party

 

Summer was looking full of possibilities. Rico couldn't help to be full of laughter thinking of camping trips, outdoor concerts, and all sorts of places to go with Nic and Mona. It was as if the four of them had a lot to plan.

"Well, Nic might hate camping," Liv said. She asked why he was thinking this all up while they were getting off from work.

"Oh, I dunno," he smiled with a shrug as they were getting into his truck. "It would be nice to just go, you know." It really felt life might be back to what it used to be. Although, he still had his mask around his neck. Yes, he shouldn't be too giddy about it, but to have friends to go places with made him ecstatic.

"Yeah, you're right," Liv agreed. "Maybe Bren and your brother would want to come too."

Rico winced a face of anguish. As if he didn't really want that. He didn't want to be under his brother's thumb. 

"We'll see. Maybe." He knew he shouldn't leave Mario out, but he'd gotten on a lumber supply place now and he was always at work, or so it seemed. "I don't know if he'll have any time." He thought of his brother out in the heat and humidity. Just how did he do it? Still, he wanted to enjoy the fun of summer which meant when he wasn't at the grocery store.

"You like Nic, don't you?" Her smile was open.

"Oh, you know you're happy that Nic and Mona hit it off." Rico couldn't help but laugh as he pulled out of the grocery store parking lot and headed home. "Has she talked to you much?"

"You know, how she is. I don't know anything, really, but she's Nic's favorite fan girl. I think." Liv told him. 

"Well, I guess we might never know." Rico nodded. "But that's OK." He was glad to be friends with Nic and Mona seemed as if she was truly happy.
