Go where you feel most alive

 

"Well, can you get a hold of him?" Deano told Mario, he had been trying what felt like for days to get a hold of Levi and no luck.

He felt a little sad that his friendship with Levi hadn't been as close as he thought it was. But then that was life. He shouldn't expect so much. Yet, he felt Mario was closer to Levi than he was.

"I don't know anything," Mario said Levi hadn't talked to him in weeks.

"I wish I could get a hold Carly," Deano found himself saying, but knew he couldn't. He'd never hear the end of it with Caitlin. "Maybe..maybe you guys could-"

"Maybe we should just leave it alone," Mario said.

"Right." Deano felt a little sad, though. He thought Levi would be around for good now. Of course, he thought they would have hung out more too.

"I mean, I was a little shocked that he told me as much as he did," Mario told him he knew then Levi must have been more than friends with Cat. "Her little brother isn't worried. But she did quit her job at the university." Deano knew Mario suspected they were together.  "He did like to keep things private you know."

Deano couldn't say a word because he was just the opposite. He told his friends everything. Mostly. 

It was true, he needed to move on. He had to with a baby coming. His brother gave him a house to look at. It was in a new development not far from where he and Caitlin lived. They'd seen pictures. It was bigger and better than Deano knew he deserved. He was lucky his brother wanted to help them out.

There was a lot on his mind and still he found time to worry about Levi.

"You know, he's not worrying about us," Mario said. "He's in his own little world. Besides, we gotta get you and Caitlin married."

"Well.." Deano cleared his throat. "We..we did get all the paperwork done."

"Yeah, but we still need to celebrate."

"But..but Caitlin says she's too fat."

"She might never lose all the weight she's gained," Mario cut to the chase. "You tell her, we are doing this. This weekend. I talked to Roman and I talked to Cory. The rooftop is yours. So it's gonna happen. My dad is decorating."

Deano was in shock. The worst part was having to tell Caitlin about all this.
