Kim knew she'd hate the dress. Caitlin was like that, but he'd informed her mother about the wedding so she could be there. She would be staying at his house.
Yes, it was a whirlwind of a show. "You know, it's best not to let her think too much about a wedding." He'd told Serena when she got here. "Besides, maybe you'll want to stay for your first grandchild."
Well, it was bitter-sweet to say the least. Naturally, she had kids to get back to, but he could see she might need a vacation too.
So of course, it stunned Caitlin to see her very own mother at her wedding. Maybe it was the wedding it's self, but there was no going back. And it was all over in about ten minutes.
Of course, everyone was on their best behavior. Deano was as adorable as he ever was. Sometimes, Kim felt Caitlin was like her mother. She was reluctant to anything. But at least her mother, Serena was all smiles. And maybe Caitlin was happy too.
He wouldn't dare ask. He would stay out of it. Maybe dance with the bride. There had to be dancing even with a baby on the way.
Kim was thankful to have Mario and Bren taking care of almost everything. Bren relied on the bakery at the grocery store. She could get a discount. Yes, the cake was small with lots of cupcakes that she'd made on her own. It was a simple wedding. Nothing really fancy but the sunset and city for a backdrop.
"Maybe you'll want to start renting the place out," he'd smiled to Cory, but he only laughed at him.
"This is just for us," Cory replied as if maybe Kim was extended family. "Are you thinking of getting married?"
They both had a big laugh over that. Really, Kim felt blessed. Never had he thought he'd make it to this moment. He was happy to see Rico and Liv together. It might not have been the perfect family, but of course, they knew how to party.
"You won't stay mad at me, will you?" He'd asked Caitlin during their wedding dance. She just cried. She was full of emotions. But he thought he heard her say, "You are the best!" When she put her arms around his neck.
He only smiled and wouldn't dare ask her to say it again.
"Oh, I've been sweet on you, the moment I met you," Kim told her. Not wanting to cry either. He knew he wanted to be here for the next chapter of her life.
Aww!

I'm so glad I was wrong about Caitlin! It seems this rooftop wedding was just what she needed! And it's so sweet how Mario and Bren took care of everything. The lovely collage really sets the scene. 🦢💟
