Guess I'm feeling unmoored

Delia wanted to say this broke her heart. How could she? How did Dora win Holden over?

Delia pressed her lips tight as if she wanted to know Dora's secret. She squinted back tears. It just felt like she hadn't had a good year since the pandemic. And it wasn't going to change now.

"There's always Hoyt," Dora looked at her blankly.

"I hate him," Delia swore as she flung herself on her bed and wrapped her arms around her cuddly pillow. She wanted to scream, but she held on tight. She couldn't help to have a gritty grimace at the thought of that looker.

"But you didn't on Valentine's day," Dora remembered.

"So." Wasn't that weeks ago? She knew what he wanted. And she did not give in this time. Oh, he was the most annoying guy ever. Yes, they'd slept together once and it was the worst idea ever. She found him so arrogant as if she was supposed to fawn all over him. And now that she'd played HARD TO GET, he just wouldn't stop texting. He'd even called. She didn't think he did that kind of thing.

"Holden said he knew someone," Dora told her.

"Oh, really?" Delia sat back up as if she wasn't here to take on the leftovers. She wasn't sure she could be around Holden..because..well, she thought he liked her. Not Dora.

He'd been so friendly. Now, she found it all so annoying. Why couldn't she just find somebody on a dating app?

Although, that had been kind of crazy too. She felt as if only the darkest of personalities had ever liked her on these sites. What was she doing that was so wrong? She'd been freaked out by one guy who had messaged her. Luckily, they never met up and she'd deleted her profile and even uninstalled the app.

"He's an old friend of Holden's. They go way back. Maybe..maybe you guys could just..well, talk."

Delia only sighed. She still thought she could lust after Eric in her sleep. After all, he had the abs. And damn, he'd gotten better-looking after all that training at the gym  If only he wasn't gay. Of course, she'd shied away from him. She didn't even feel like being his friend. Oh, these hopes and dreams of hers were like vanished promises.

God, she needed to stop watching Disney. Really, she had no expectations about this so-called double date that Dora was trying to talk her into. She didn't care.

She was fine all by her lonesome. This was a good time for self-love, she started to say. But when Dora mentioned dinner and dancing. Delia couldn't help but smile. She couldn't remember doing that kind of thing on a date.

  7. It's good that she got excited about the double date, you never know what good things came out of it.

  8. Maybe Delia will have fun with Tristan! Or, at the very least, have fun dining and dancing. I must admit that kind of date does sound tempting! Even if it isn't with Tristan, I hope Delia finds love -- or at least companionship -- soon. Her experience with dating apps sounds demoralizing, not to mention scary. It's true that Disney never prepared us for that!

I love this super colorful collage! And also, the "hopelessly devoted" reference. It's like you had a vision of the Oscars In Memoriam before it happened! 🌸🎥✨
