We look for signs to point the way

Even Pan thought he was setting a new record. He couldn't help but smile. Yes, he'd gone so long without speaking to no one. He really wondered how long it would last. Of course, he wasn't thinking it was weird. It was just something he did. Yes, he knew it drove Roxanne crazy but he kind of enjoyed it, on occasion.

It was like something to put her in her place. Or just being stoic was his best feature. Didn't she know that by now?  Oh, he shook the thought then at his little cube in the basement of where he worked. What was he thinking? God, if only Ari hadn't mentioned his brother. Pan did feel a little guilty about his reaction. Well, just a little. Nothing was going to change his world so he sat back to keep digging for more information on the deadbeat dads. Hadn't he had one, as well? He grimaced, wondering how great his brother's life had been.

"Well, you're just sitting down here all by your lonesome!" Caitlin might as well have been the Tasmanian devil as she sashayed her way into Pan's lonely department and smashed the documents on his desk.

Pan sat there serious and mute. It was best to let her have her say. She was always this way. What was it that drove her to this madness? He couldn't say if they were friends.

"You haven't found out anything!" She was fierce.

"What?" Had he missed something?  He slightly looked dismayed, but he didn't want her to know how scared he actually was of her.

"Oh, don't give me that crap," Caitlin snapped as she leaned against the desk. At least she wasn't releasing the F-bomb. It was her favorite word for everything. Pan sighed, blinked, and went on with his work.

"You are supposed to do as I ask," Caitlin's eyes lit up as if she was ready to smack him.

"I don't work for the police department. I would do more," he shrugged. "But, I..I really don't have the resources." It was about that couple. But he wasn't going to say another word about the matter. It was a dead end.

"Resources!" She made it sound like a dare somehow.

"Caitlin..Caitlin..Caitlin," Pan shook his head. Even he was surprised he said her name so many times. "I'm not a magician." Whatever got in his head that he could help her? They weren't even investigating a major crime. "What is it that you want?"

"I want his name!" She snapped. She said that was all she was asking for.

"And then what?" He knew there had to be more.

"I dunno." She looked away as if she'd have to think about that.

  3. Hmm... she's pushing him hard. I wonder what she's after.

    Happy Easter!

I love gelato. Haven't had it in ages. There's this place up in Traverse City that has the best. Or did... not sure if they still have it. Hope the pudding turns out well! A margarita sounds nice, honestly. Could use one. Hope your weekend is going swimmingly!

  4. Ah, the old silent treatment! Poor Rox. Then again, she's probably (somewhat) used to this from Pan. I was surprised to see Caitlin back in action. Working seems to agree with her. Even if she's rude to Pan, it's better than the way she was when on maternity leave. Finally, I'm very intrigued by the mystery that's afoot, especially because it seems to involve a lot of characters. You always bring the suspense! 😮🔎😮🔎😮🔎😮🔎😮🔎😮🔎
