"All I'm saying," Weezer confided to Nonnie as they got ready for bed. "He's like a reboot of Pan."
He pulled back the covers and waited for Nonnie to get in. He'd put on an extra blanket since it was getting colder and a chance of snow. Hopefully, Elvis didn't have a problem with the thermostat so low, but Tristan did a lot of the same measures that Nic did when it came to apartment living.
"I don't even want a talk about him," she snuggled up next to him. "I hope Rox hasn't lost all her senses."
"Oh, she's not in bed with him," Weezer chuckled softly in her ear as they cuddled.
"Not that we know of," Nonnie shrugged. It was as if she wouldn't put anything past Rox.
"He's smitten," Weezer said about the Elvis matter.
"Yeah, Rox can't be smothered, she wouldn't know what to do," Nonnie told him.
"Precisely," Weezer agreed. "I kind of feel sorry for the kid, but not really." He wanted to say something about Pan. Of course, he was one dude Weezer had stopped trying to figure out. Besides, Nonnie was intoxicating just being next to him and the chemistry soon ignited and he wasn't thinking about anyone but her.
He kissed her then and she kissed back as if she was happy he'd decided to shut up about the new roommate matter. Weezer smiled when he looked down at her. It was good to see her happy. Yes, it was truly a nice Thanksgiving, just being with friends. No way, was he gonna worry about that phone call he was supposed to have with his dad.
Naturally, his dad was still worried about his sister and Weezer didn't have any news. It was best to be in his own little world with Nonnie. When she touched him, he knew where he belonged. He didn't dare feel sorry about it. They were one together and somehow this was the path he would never be sidetracked from. Maybe, if he did keep his classes up this semester, he would finally be able to get on with the company building jet engines.
Hoyt felt like it was old times, being at Mona's parents, but add in Ari's friend and Jade and well, it didn't feel quite like the memories he remembered back in his school days. Of course, they were always busy playing games of some kind back then. Now he was adulting and it wasn't nearly as fun.
"Didn't was do a marathon of all the Harry Potter movies back then?" He asked Mona as he got out all the DVDs, back at their apartment. He just wanted to veg except they didn't have a DVD player.
She looked at him and shook her head as if he would never grow up. "I thought you wanted to watch the new Hunger Games movie?"
"Not really," he confessed with a scowl and shrug. "It's a prequel. I don't get it."
Mona sighed. He knew she wanted to go. He wanted to stay home. Naturally, he thought he could stay in bed after Thanksgiving dinner, but he knew he should chill and let her decide. Although, he didn't have time for all this talk.
"It's fine, I don't want to go out," she shrugged as if she was sad.
"What's got you all down?" He put his arm around her there on the couch as if he could get cozy if she'd just let him.
"Oh, I dunno, Ari being like a Self-Help Coach of some kind," She frowned as if she didn't like this Justin guy.
"What do you men?" Hoyt was serious. Was there something she wasn't telling him? "Did he come on to you?"
Mona laugh. "I love making you jealous," she tickled him then and Hoyt laughed. But she told him that wasn't it. "I think Justin is into Ari."
"You would," Hoyt rolled his eyes at that, but the guy was friendly enough. He really didn't know that much about him.
"I just don't want him take Ari's money," she told him. "I mean, Ari is tight with money, but you get hi on a cause..and well, he might pay it forward."
"No, he wouldn't." Hoyt shook his head, no. "If Ari was gonna help anyone, it would be Pan. Now that's a bromance. Wish I knew one was like." He sighed.
Now he had Mona smiling. "My poor Hoyt needs a boyfriend." She tickled him in the ribs then and they played around until the heat turned into something else.
Hoyt looked at her ever so serious. "You know you're all that I'll ever need." He smiled and he kissed her as if they hadn't had sex on the couch since they moved in.
I love how close Weezer and Nonnie are. Sometimes in the storms of ife you need that person you can escape with.
ReplyDeleteOoh Hoyt! Adulting IS no fun! And ha ha the prequel. They should go and get a big tub of popcorn. :) But I share her concerns about Justin. And two little love sessions in this one. :) Some amour for the long Thanksgivig weekend...
Thanks for your comments! I would think enthusiasm at a book club would be a good thing. :) I'm going to check out some of those authors you mentioned. Be well this weekend!

ReplyDeleteWeezer and Nonnie are so wonderful together! I love this part:
ReplyDelete"It was best to be in his own little world with Nonnie. When she touched him, he knew where he belonged."
I'm so glad that Nonnie warmed up to Weezer, and that he makes her so happy.🌎💞💕💖
And things seem to be going swimmingly in Mona and Hoyt land too. Even if Hoyt does need a boyfriend. 😏💞💕💖
