Really Deano just wanted to stay home this Thanksgiving and Caitlin obviously wanted to stay home too, but he was brave and got them all ready to go out before winter settled in. Naturally, Caitlin started sneezing while she was at her father's. Of course, there were so many people there, including Bren, her dad and even her brother dropped in with his wife.
"Yes, you were right, I was wrong," Deano said later with a stuffy head. Hopefully, it wasn't COVID.
Of course, this didn't hold Caitlin back from wanting to go shopping with Megan.
"Did you guys ever shop when you lived together?" He wanted to know now since obviously she just wanted him to stay home with someone.
"I can't remember," she shrugged about the matter.
"I bet," Deano had a feeling she just missed her old roommate and they had a lot of catching up to do. So here he was with Hannah. It wasn't long until Cori showed up with Melvin and Cora.
"Let's just be sick together," he had a cough. Nothing serious.
So they hung out like old times while the girls made their day getting their nails done with a pedicure too.
"How are you doing really?" Deano wanted to know if Cori had anything mind for the holidays.
"Not bad," he did mention his eyes did have a few dark spots weeks ago, but it ended up being nothing. He even checked it out.
"Have you heard from your mother or your brother?"
"We aren't on speaking terms," Cori shrugged about the matter after all he'd had Thanksgiving with Megan and her grandparents. He said Cyrus and Pixie joined them too. All was quaint and that was all the family he needed. "Hows your brother doing?"
"I guess he's moving to Florida, says Nebraska is just getting too cold for him," Deano sighed about the matter. "He's there right now on a vacay." Yes, he didn't need his brother as much as he used too. He felt a little sad about it, but not really. "I just wish he'd find someone and settle down."
"I wouldn't even bother thinking about it anymore," Cori was for the here and now. "Besides, I even have my own assistant manager these days and she's hiring the new help." He smiled. These were always things he never liked doing. Making pizza was one thing, but finding someone who could keep up with supplies and demand and keeping the work schedules in order meant life was good. It was best not to sweat the small stuff.

ReplyDeleteThat's so nice that Caitlin and Megan are reconnecting! And that Deano and Cori got a chance to catch up too. I'm happy that Cori can concentrate on the pizza instead of the paperwork. 😀🍕🍕🍕
